Comfortable and Wearable
Liberty Men's Denim Bib Overall Since my husband gained weight from taking steroids due to his battle with brain cancer, he’s been drawn to wearing bib overalls. The overalls are made of cotton denim and they’re easy to get into, without cutting into his belly and groin. He is particularly drawn to the more comfortable overalls with the zipper pocket on the front. These overalls are perfect for what my husband has been shopping for. They offer a comfortable fit with a zipper pocket in the front where he can put his phone of other items. And he loves the way the overalls are so easy to adjust with the large and smooth straps. Denim cotton provides a perfect look for the farmer and my husband is a farmer. He looks so good in these attractive bib overalls with their Liberty label on the front. As a small farm owner, the overalls make a great impression on locals who know my husband as a great farmer with his small heard of cattle and chickens and soon to be turkeys. With his bib overalls made from cotton denim, my husband is the perfect expression of farm tough. He looks absolutely gorgeous in these overalls and I have a picture to prove it. the Bad: the overalls aren’t going to last forever the Best: these overalls are a high quality with durable material and they are amazingly comfortable. If you or your husband like bib overalls, I can’t imagine a more perfect choice than these Liberty bib overalls.

Well made and comfortable
My husband loves these overalls so much that we just ordered another pair. They are super comfortable and have lots of pockets in all the right places. He loves the zipper chest pocket to keep his phone safe while he's working. We are RockHounds and the loop on the leg holds his rock pick securely and is really convenient. They were on a price drop this time so it was an exceptional value.

LONG bib and legs.
Made well, comfortable, but I could not keep them because only the waist fit. The bib was too long and the legs were too long, even after sliding the straps to their shortest length. I am 5' tall, 47" waist, so got the 48" size with the shortest inseam.

For detail-oriented people like me, here's how to pick a size
TLDR; For the waist, buy 4" larger than your normal pant size. (For example, if you wear a 30 in Levis, buy a 34 in these overalls). For the inseam, order a size longer than your normal inseam (if possible) to account for shrinkage. Onto the longer review... These overalls are great, the price is fantastic, and the quality and construction feels like something timeless and straight out of the 1930s. I do question their claim that they are unchanged since 1912, considering that they have two zippers (and zippers didn't really start gaining widespread adoption until a few decades later), but I digress...onto the fit! First of all, these are a rigid, unwashed denim. They will shrink upwards of 3% when washed and dried. As with most garments, shrinkage in the width will usually stretch back out with wear. Shrinkage in the length will not. Therefore, I recommend buying an inseam that is longer than you normally wear (if possible). Shrinkage can be unpredictable, so you might end up with overalls that are too long, but it's easy to get them hemmed or wear them cuffed. That's the easy part. Onto the waist measurement... Vintage clothing used to run true-to-size. If something said it was a 30 waist, it would actually measure 30" in the waist. Over the past few decades, most brands have adopted "vanity sizing". A size 30 in Men's Levis (and most brands) will usually measure 32". A few brands still run true-to-size (like the classic Dickies 874, which is why you usually buy 2 sizes larger in Dickies than you wear in other garments). These overalls, from what I can tell, actually run true-to-size. A size 30 in these overalls will actually measure 30" around the waist. But these aren't pants, and shouldn't fit you tight around the waist like normal pants. you need a little wiggle room for them to be comfortable and hang properly. So you'll want to add an additional 2" to your true waist measurement. In other words: -If you wear a size 30 in Levi's 501 and similar pants that use vanity sizing, then you'll probably want a size 34 in these overalls. -If you wear a size 32 in Dickies 874 and similar pants that run true-to-size, then you'll probably want a size 34 in these overalls. -Alternatively, measure your true waist (around your belly button) with a tailor's measuring tape, add 2" to that, and that is likely the size you'll want to buy. I don't know why companies make it so difficult to determine fit of their garments. Customers are left with a generic size chart that doesn't do anything. As a customer, we need to know the exact measurements of the garment. We need to know how it compares to other brands we're used to. It's also useful to know what size the model is wearing in the photos. Instead, we don't get any of that. We must order multiple sizes online and then return the ones that don't fit. Very wasteful. So hopefully this review helps someone out.

Overalls sizes are funny thing to judge, but these are perfect!
I own Carhartt overalls, Red Kap, and a Japanese selvedge pair. Finding the right fit is tricky because you can't go by waist, like you would with jeans. You have to consider your gut. I usually wear a 34/36 sized jeans, depending on the fit. My size 36 Carhartt overalls fit pretty good, they're slightly loose. My Red Kap 38s are pretty loose actually. And the Japanese ones, well, I'd need to loose the gut for them to fit. Don't know if that's happening anytime soon. I originally bought these Liberty in 36, and while the rest of them fit pretty good, in the legs and hips, my belly was pressed against the mid-seam. But these 38s fit great! A bit loose for movement, but my midsection is comfortable. Other than that, the quality is great! The triple seams give me confidence in their wear ability. The material is soft, but durable feeling. The hand pockets are real deep, which is great. And the chest pockets are awesome. Love the zipper, and there's a "secret" pocket there which I'm assuming is supposed to be a old style watch pocket. Anyways, I'm happy to have found a decent, seemingly quality pair of overalls that fit. Good buy.
