Sounds as good as it looks
Before I ordered this music centre I read a lot of the reviews about it on here...and wasnt too sure whether I should buy it. However, I bit the bullet and ordered one. It arrived the very next day which was excellent service, and when I opened the box I was very pleasantly surprised. It has that vintage retro look, in wood not plastic, which I like, and having had a cursory look at the set up manual (men dont read manuals!) I found it was a very simple task to get the centre working, as long as you remember to switch it on at the back of the machine! The remote control is a bonus, which I have found to be so easy to operate. All the options...HiFi, radio, CD and tape all work perfectly. It gets a bit of getting used to waiting for the toner arm to drop on the HiFi unit, but the sound quality is excellent for the price paid, and though there is no treble/bass option, there are settings for different music styles which compensates. I also like the dial tuning on the radio, reminded me of my youth when all radios required manual tuning...none of this modern pre-set station selection. I've only had the music centre for 2 days, but my initial impression is that it is a quality machine which will certainly satisfy my need to be able to play my vinyl and CDs again. If you're looking for a good quality value for money music centre, I'd recommend this one...it sounds as good as it looks! Just a quick note to point out that some who have bought this have complained that when playing a record, the deck switches off before the end of the record. This is because there is an auto-stop function which assumes every record is of the same duration. If you switch the auto-stop function off, (the switch is next to the lever that raises the toner arm) the record will play to the end. Hope this helps.

A brilliant all-in-one music system with real retro charm
I’m really impressed with the Denver 8-in-1 CD Bluetooth Cassette Player Retro Wooden Record Player HiFi System. It combines classic styling with modern features perfectly, making it both a great-looking and highly practical addition to my home. The retro wooden design looks fantastic and feels solid and well made. It has a proper vintage vibe without looking cheap, and it fits nicely into any room as more than just a music player. Sound quality is surprisingly good for an all-in-one system. It’s clear, warm, and more than powerful enough for everyday listening. I’ve used it for vinyl, CDs, cassettes, radio, and Bluetooth streaming, and switching between modes is easy and intuitive. The Bluetooth connection is quick and stable, which is great for playing music from my phone, while still having the option to enjoy older formats. The turntable plays records smoothly, the CD and cassette functions work flawlessly, and the radio reception is decent. Overall, this is an excellent choice for anyone who loves physical music formats but still wants modern convenience. Great value for money, easy to use, and a real nostalgia hit. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, versatile home audio system.

Great piece of kit
We bought the Denver 9 in 1 so that we could record our vinyl records and cds to usb to play in the car and it’s been great. However, we did have to go online to find instructions on how to record as the instructions that come with the unit are very basic. We ordered the unit in black and the finish and quality is very good. The drawback is that there is no labelling to the individual tracks when recording and it’s one long list. This is a small inconvenience. The sound quality is good considering the size of the unit. We’ve used the cd, radio and turntable functions (we don’t have any cassettes so can’t say how this function performs). Overall we are delighted with the unit especially as we were able to buy it at a very competitive price.

Ticks all the boxes for me
I read reviews of all the current all-in-one sound systems for sale. I was up and down in making a choice but finally went for the light wood option of this model. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Its great. Unpacked easily, tried the CD player first and got to grips with the sound - have settled for the rock option for the moment which has a reasonable bass and is loud enough without distortion. Yes the CD holder is a little wobbly but aren't they all? Just be gentle I then put on a really old vinyl - the original My Fair Lady from the stage version of 1956!!! I kid you not. It was perfect - not a bump, not a skip. I have to say I bought a cleaning set with the system and it seemed to pick up all the dust and hair . I suggest you clean your vinyls before use. The record player has a manual aspect to it but that's part of going old school, along with the radio dials. One thing I will mention is that the manual advises the removal of the turntable transit screw. We had a good look for it - the quick start guide clarifies that it is no longer required! When recording from CD to USB you can choose between recording just one track or the whole CD. The remote is effective once you are familiar with the buttons. My only regret is that I forgot to check if this system had bluetooth capabilites. I should perhaps have gone up to the 9-in1 version. But that's on me. Thankfully so far everything is working well, the sound is good and it looks fantastic. I couldn't be more pleased. It was a great buy for the price

Denver MRD-51 DAB Retro Record Player Music Centre
I have given this one star as I have had to return it. When I first got the thing onto a table and inspected it I noticed a small dent on the top of the inside edge of the fixed cover. That should not have been there of course. It was not sufficient in itself to reject the item but I became dissatisfied with the operation of a number of features. They were - 1. it would not record from the radio. Not at all from FM and on DAB I could get an mp3 file which had no sound on it. When I recorded the sound cut out from the speakers. I didn't know if that was normal or not. 2. Station presetting was mostly failure. Holding and holding the preset down and nothing happened usually - it did work but only sometimes. The instructions did not say how to alter a preset, for some reason, and I had to assume that any preset would be over written if one wanted to change it to another station by going thro the preset procedure. Nothing happened and I was left with several useless presets. 3. the +10 button on the remote was useless - all it would do was change the counter by one track at a time. Nothing would happen though, the counter reset itself to whatever was playing at the time. I did consult 3 Wisemonkeys on these issues and at the end of the day had to return the item as it just wasn't up to expectations. I found that regretful as the item did look nice. Anyway I did spot on many of the customer reviews that it was quite common for there to be like 10% of people giving items of this sort a one star rating. This one was a bit less than that I think but nevertheless once bitten twice shy as they say.

Very happy to recommend.
The Denver 8-in-1 retro music centre, arrived on time and was safely packaged. It is exactly as described. The music centre plays lovely sound from the speakers. We have no need to attach any other speakers. The vinyl records play well as does the CD player. As yet to use the cassette player. The only slight problem we have is the remote control does not seem to work. With new batteries inside, the centre does not seem to recognise it. Will have to contact 3wise monkeys to fix the problem. Apart from this it is a lovely piece of kit. Happy to recommend.

It does the job, but it isn’t the best.
It did the job I needed it to for a time. I was an avid CD collector at the time of purchase, and I was also starting to collect vinyl which warranted my search for something that could play both. I had no issues getting it set up and it played both formats well enough. I will note that I bought an external set of speakers so I can’t judge the speakers of this unit. My main issues were slight issues I had in playback. When playing my vinyl, there was a noticeable distortion to the sound, at first I thought it was an issue with the records themselves as they were second hand, but new ones had the same problem. I also grew nervous of the overhang and bumpiness of the records when playing them too. CDs had no issue with sound, but there were short gaps when changing from track to track which on certain albums disrupted the mood. As I said, it did the job I needed it to do at the time and if you’re not looking for perfect sound quality then it will suit you fine

Get pleasure out of your music again.
Superb sound quality, great look. Great support from supplier (ThreeWiseMonkeys). They include their own Quick Setup Guide, which was easy to follow. And even though I didn't need it they sent an email a while after my purchase to ask if everything was OK, which it was - and still is. Much appreciated after sales support. Record deck is great, with a lifting arm, and a damper on the lifting arm - took a moment for me to realise what was happening with this, I thought the pick-up arm wasn't going back down again, but the 'drop' is so gentle that you needn't worry about scratching your beloved vinyl. Plays 33, 45 and 78rpm - just wish I'd kept all those 78s! The cassette tape deck looks like a bit of an afterthought, being tucked around the side, but it's great for transferring all your tapes to MP3. Keeping Vinyl is one thing as it doesn't degrade, but tapes will only fall apart over time (the glue holding the oxide to the backing ages and degrades, thereby shedding the oxide. So after a number of years they will become unplayable.) So the tape deck is more than adequate. Recording to mp3 is extremely easy. Just one button to press! It sometimes take a few seconds to start recording after the button is pressed, but I guess that is because it has to set up a MP3 file etc. Recording quality is excellent. It saves all those wires and special laptop based software I used to use!! The speakers on this unit are awesome. So clear, with a good stereo effect. Radio is now worth listening to again (FM and DAB), as are CDs - much better than playing them through the TV DVD player. Radio signal reception round here can be problematic, so I was prepared to run the aerial wire up the wall - DIDN'T NEED TO! I just dropped the aerial wire behind the table and it worked - brilliantly. My Sister-in-law was so impressed with the unit that she asked family to buy her one for her birthday. Other relations that came round at Christmas and were very impressed with the sound, if not with my choice of music. So there may be a third purchase on the way. No matter what your decor or style this unit fits well in any room (apart from a bathroom obviously!!) Plug it in, turn it on and enjoy music again - like we used to.
