The fit is awesome
First: I really like the fit. No, the material doesn't sag as it appears in the photos; it is sort of an expansion under the chest so it is not too tight. I hike a lot with my dog and it keeps her warm if chilly and, of course, works well if it begins to sprinkle. She is a Goldendoodle 85lbs and ordered a XXL at first. It was a bit too tight in the chest area so I returned it and ordered a XXXL which works much better. Her measurements in the chest are rather large. I also have a 45lbs Shar Pei and I ordered an XL, her measurements are 17" neck and 27.5" chest, so the XL works very well. I like that neither fits the dogs too tight in the middle. I really like this product.

Good enough I bought it again!
I originally purchased this coat in 2019, and it survived 3 winters in upstate New York (AKA 6 months of daily use in snow every year) before the stitches holding the velcro to the middle flaps began to separate. My jack russell absolutely loves it, and nothing else I've tried keeps him as warm and dry when he's climbing in snow piles that are literally larger than he is, so I've recently purchased a replacement & I'm just as impressed by the new one as I was by the old. What really sold me on this coat is how much of the dog's chest is covered by the waterproofing. The size medium is exactly the perfect length to keep him as dry as possible. If it went any further back it would cause problems when he went to the bathroom. I've not found any other brand that covers as much of his stomach & believe me, my dog definitely notices the difference! He'll refuse to climb into the snow if anything but his feet are going to get wet.The waterproofing is great at keeping everything dry in the rain or snow, I've never had an issue with leaks. It's even handled a few trips in the washer on delicate cycle without losing any waterproofing. This coat is a little confusing to put on the first time, but it gets easier with practice. It fastens in 3 spots, all velcro. I usually leave the neck one attached and just lift it over his head like a harness. Then I tuck the front piece under the dog's chest and pull the flaps up (one per side). All the velcro is incredibly sturdy, my dog likes to get himself stuck in bushes & it's never come loose while he was being pulled free. I've also never had trouble getting it to stick on the first try, a real benefit when my dog decides the potty dance (complete with jumping & kicking) is the fastest way to be let outside. In the end the velcro was actually so strong it slowly ripped off the middle flaps. This does run a little small relative to other brands, the measurements are pretty accurate so I'd recommend double checking the size before purchase.Overall this is a pretty great jacket and an important part of my pup's winter wardrobe!

Good jacket but order up a size or two
This jacket seems high quality and looks nice. I like that there's some elasticity in the chest to help get the best fit, but I would prefer if it covered the belly area more thoroughly. It's easy to put on my dog and she seems to like it.However, I ordered the XXL and it is slightly too small. I have a 90 lb Newfoundland mix with a 25-in back, an 18-in neck, and a 31.5-in chest. The jacket is a a few inches too short in the back, a touch tight under the front arm, and yet the chest area is a little loose. Hope this helps somebody order the right size.

Nice coat!!
It was a little short for my 115 lb German Shepherd but that's okay. He seems very comfortable in it. Made well and is easy to put on

Warm and perfect, once you figure out the size from reviews!
I got this in XXL due to Irina Davey's review for my 18-year-old beagle, Bart. She didn't have a beagle, but the size of her dog in the picture she shared seemed so similar to mine and her review was so very helpful I got it! I have gotten a few jackets in the past and he had another one he did use, but it just wasn't thick enough (to me) for the freezing weather and his failing health. The one he did use was a little on the verge of too loose with the velcro at the neckline and better for fall weather. I found others coats, but they always ended up too small, even after I measured them!Anyway, so IT FIT! I was so very, very happy I could make him more comfortable. He seemed to enjoy the fresh air in spite of his health and the bitter cold, so he definitely wanted outside. I sometimes put the lighter weight fall coat I had on over this one for even extra warmth on the extra cold days we had and when we went outside for his winter constitutions before his health finally did get the better of him on the 19th. I have no regrets. I felt so much better with this jacket. SO MUCH BETTER! It was thicker, warmer, and the Velcro areas had more versatility, more adjustability, and even his belly was covered. He seemed warmer, didn't shiver, which always made me whisk him right up and bring him inside, ruining his moment. She did make mention in her review of the folds covering over too much of his privates and it did! BUT, as I'd hoped, I just folded the flaps over and duct-taped the area with some black gorilla tape I had handy and it held and worked perfectly. I know. I know. I could try and sew it, but there is that nagging sewing learning curve, the lack of time and then what fun would life be without finding more uses for duct tape? I really miss my little guy, but this coat was awesome for him in his final days. Thank you, Irina!P.S. The pictures of this coat are mixed with a couple pictures I have found so far with Bart's older, thinner fall coat on. I believe that one is a Zack & Zoey coat that he got in a medium (a bit ill-fitting a bit in the neckline, holding just at the end of the velcro) More velcro might have helped. That one isn't thick, but it is good for fall and layering. It's not for winter, though! I mention this all again mainly for sizing frame of reference and because it's good to know any extra things when you're looking for coats!
