OEM filters are the best!
Excellent quality air filter. It's always good to use OEM filter.

Worth the extra money
We have a Blueair filter and these are the best priced filters I’ve found. Have them set for automatic delivery every six months so I don’t have to think about my air filter ever which is really nice. It’s constantly running in our bedroom and with two large dogs and a husband with terrible allergies, it’s been great for us over the last 8 years. Tried to use generic filters once and they didn’t fit correctly and didn’t work nearly as well. Pay the money and get the better product for this air filter.

Authentic BlueAir filters
Fits the classic 480i perfectly. I generally try to buy OEM filters given that I want to ensure a good fit and the whole purpose of buying a high quality purifier in the first place is to be effective. Only downside is that they are very expensive and feels like they are taking advantage of locked in users.

Expensive but superior performance.
I recently switched to a whole home purifier to reduce the consumables of the Blueair filters. While third party filters exist, the Blueair ones do seem to be better built and filter better. Many of the Blueair filters are designed with brushes to charge the air passing by so that they are trapped in the filter. I think there is some sort of optimization that exists.

Tried Non-OEM Filters and Regretted It
Made and recommended by the purifier's manufacturer, these are high quality replacements. Yes, they are expensive, but going "cheap" resulted in clogged filters and an indication within 1 month that they were not functioning. I decided that if I spent what I did for the purifier to protect me and my family, spending a little more for best filters was worth it.

I don't like the odor of the air that has been filtered.
The filters are working, but they leave the "clean" air smelling like denatured alcohol, which isn't too pleasant and makes me wonder "why?" and "is this toxic?" I got the charcoal filters hoping for NO smell in the house, rather than exchanging one smell (pets/litter) for another. They are OEM and fit perfectly. Expensive filters, but I have had 2 of these for many years, and it is hard to justify tossing these big machines into a landfill. I probably will go back to the regular non charcoal filters next time, because these smell so terrible. I thought the smell would decrease, but it has been at least 3 days on medium high, and they are still smelling the same (if you don't know what denatured alcohol smells like, it is sweeter than rubbing alcohol, but a noxious chemical smell.)

Great Filter
Been using my Blue Air filter since 2001. I used the basic filter and then switched to the Dual Protection Filter last year and won't be going back. I love it. Worth the money, yet a bit pricey for a once every 6 month replacement.
