Excellent firmness and quality, many uses.
Excellent product, fantastic price including shipping. This balance pad has massively helped with my PPPD therapy. It also doubles as a great floor cushion when sitting in seiza (kneeling Japanese-style) or sitting cross-legged. I've scraped it up by accident over time but it is holding up well.

Almost a year later, - still working great. Less expensive than a single physical therapy session.
Last year I was suffering from vertigo due to vestibular hypofunction. I had about a half dozen physical therapy sessions and this pad does a lot of what I needed. Perfect for at home use. I did a lot of searching. There are some cheaper (and smaller) options but this is the brand that my clinic used and based on reviews seemed more durable. I like the bigger size in order to position feet in different ways. The main exercise that I need to do on the pad is to stand with feet together and eyes closed to isolate the vestibular contribution to balance. My physical therapist said that there are 3 elements to balance: touch (ex. feet), eyesight, and the inner ears (vestibulas). Using the pad, especially barefoot, takes away the sense of touch and keeping eyes closed takes the vision part out of the equation, leaving really just the inner ear. Keeping feet next to each other then try to stand still for 30 seconds. I place the pad in the corner so that I can just lean back if I'm feeling at all "wobbly". With time, I advanced to moving arms, shifting a foot forward 6 inches, using dumbbells, moving head around slowly, and increasing time. A year later and between the PT and the at home exercises, the problem seems to be largely solved but I still try to do the exercises periodically to keep it from coming back. Given that it is the same as what clinics use heavily, I'm not surprised that it has held up well. No sign of material breakdown, unlike review complaints about some cheaper options. I figure this will be in the corner of my entertainment room for years to come. I can stand in the corner and listen to the TV while doing my exercises. Mine is blue but the picture shows the pad in a pillow case. Makes it a little less visually obtrusive and easier to clean. Mine is about 20x16 and I recommend this size which makes it easier to position the feet in different ways to provide variety in the exercises. Glad that I got it and even more glad that the vertigo episodes are gone!

Very good product functions exactly how one would expect
There are three levels of firmness of these. I bought this specific brand because it’s the brand that has been in my physical therapists office/gym/whatever for at least 4 years (same pads for that length of time). I wanted a more challenging level of firmness so I went for the softest one (my PT office has the firmest and the medium). I’ve not used a lot of other products but for me this is just simply an excellent product. I would not recommend the softest pad unless you are a pretty advanced user. I think the middle is probably best for most folks. The stiffest is best for folks expecting a long recovery from an injury/surgery. When I’m PT (I’ve had a 1.3 year stint for my back and in the last two years I’ve gone almost continuously for recovery from 6 torn meniscus surgeries, three each knee) it probably takes me about 3-6 weeks of using the firmest before I’m ready to advance to the middle one and then 2-3 months before I can use the softest one). To clarify that I’m in my late 50’s — for younger folks or more fit folks those times will be significantly less. Overall it’s a great product and I’m happy I got the softest one for home use.

Works Well!
Works well for balance training! I am a physical therapist and I purchased this for my 87 year old grandfather, my only complaint is it is slightly more firm than what I was anticipating- but it may be because it is new. It is still more than enough to train balance and stability skills with.

The perfect balance pad for my foot and ankle rehabilitation (PT)!
I bought this to do my physical therapy exercises at home and was VERY pleased with the thickness, form density, and overall size. Ideal for rehabilitating my foot fracture and ankle (I tore a ligament: ATFL).

Not inexpensive but very, very durable.
AIREX is best in class when incorporating stability training into your routine. First used this brand at my PT’s office and was so impressed I bought one for my home workouts.

This mat is worth the money for sure . I have vestibular problems and was using pillows to stand on for my balance exercises. The mat is so much better and may look like any other Mat but it’s not . It’s amazing.

Kneel on this pad one knee after the other. Do ten rounds per knee counting to thirty with each kneel. Then do the two knees together for three minutes. Do this each day to strengthen your legs.
