This is a concentrate. I bought this product for ticks but it has also reduced the mosquitos and flies in my backyard. For fleas it was like 3 oz per gallon. Can't imagine ants being more. Try food grade Diatomaceous Earth for ants. It is not poisonous to humans or animals. You can eat it. A 50 lb bag is $30-35 and will last you for ever. **Q: can it be applied with a hose sprayer?** A: I guess it can, but this stuff is brutal on all insects including bees and other beneficial insects.
