can i use this for a 5th wheel hitch pin

5th wheels usually have a solid bar that locks the hitch pin to the plate. Otherwise, if there are pins holding the hitch down, etc, as long as diameter and length are OK then it will work.

Is the diameter 1/2 or 5/8 inch?

The sleeve is 5/8 and the pin is 1/2. I used in a 2022 F150 and the hitch assembly ring is 5/8 so using both the sleeve and pin work perfectly. That should be pretty standard.
