Unmatched Flavor — Better Than Maraschino
These Italian black cherries are unlike any cherries I’ve ever had , far superior to maraschino cherries. Very sweet, with a thick, sugary syrup and a dark, rich burgundy color. I first tried them at a restaurant (Forest Gump) and had to order some for home. They’re perfect in cocktail, just add a little syrup to bourbon or whiskey with ice for a tasty treat. The jar did leak a little during shipping, making it tricky to remove at first, but warm water solved the problem. They are a bit pricey, but the flavor is excellent. I won’t be buying maraschino cherries again!

I LOVE THEM
Greatest cherries ever! They're NOT maraschino cherries fyi, they're WILD BLACK CHERRIES (possibly Amaro). They're thicker, bigger and oh so tasty! The sauce they're in is also extremely good! Sweet and sour to the max! Similar to amaretto cherries but not as sweet. I'll eat these forever. Please bury them with me when I go!

Worth the price!
I bought these cherries for my husband as he is an avid bourbon drinker. He loves to make manhattans and old fashioned's. I bought these as a "treat" for him since he had always purchased your run of the mill maraschino cherries prior. After buying these cherries, I don't think he'll be going back to the grocery store version. Yes, they are pricey but the jar is large, heavy duty and it is FILLED with cherries and cherry syrup. My husband was even impressed with the jar. He said it was so fancy, it looked like it could be an urn!!! The cherries are delicious. The seller also packaged them very well - they were wrapped in bubble wrap and packing tape when I received them. Absolutely no issues and they shipped faster than expected! They definitely have a sweet front and a tart finish. They really up the ante in his drinks. I think we'll be buying these again!

Better for drinks than Luxardos but not as deep in flavor
Long-time Luxardo lovers, we tried these on a lark and find that while they are a bit less dense and complex, we prefer the Amarena Toschi cherries for drinks. They have a firmer texture and the slightly less intense taste makes them more compatible with a broader variety of cocktails. For people who really like the deep velvet Luxardo taste, these may not fit the bill. That said, they are recommended as a worthy alternative to the firmer, more watery American style maraschinos (to say nothing of the candy-sweet variety that reminds me of the Shirley Temples I got as a kid).

Sweet little cherrys
Very delicious cherrys in syrups for your drinks

The red label of this brand is sweeter and more candied than the blue label, but super delicious. Definitely recommended as a cocktail cherry, especially for an old fashioned. BUT. Some opportunistic companies have been buying the available stock up and re-selling on this site at double or triple the normal price. I noticed this around the last holiday season. All of a sudden my regular supplier didn't have any available, and new companies were selling them at exorbitant prices.

My husband asked for a black forest cake for his birthday, with "those red cherries." And I said no, we're getting something better. Yes, it's a tiny jar, but it was perfect for what we needed. I soaked some fresh sliced cherries in the juice and used the mix as cake filling. The combo of light whipped cream, these decadent cherries and a deep rich chocolate cake was a trifecta of amazing. I impressed myself and these cherries added a level of sophistication to the cake far surpassing my expectations!

These cherries are the best!! I use them in old fashioneds and they go very nicely. They taste like cherry blasters without the sourness. The jar is completely full and even the juice/syrup that it comes in is delicious! Second time getting them! I will never use another cherry again

Amarena cherries are the best cocktail cherries out there. Particularly for Manhattan's and Old Fashioned's. I've never tried other brands, just the Toschi so can't compare to others. Even though amarena cherries are pricey compared to maraschino cherries, they are a much richer flavor. On a side note: I use a little if the juice instead of a sugar cube for the Old Fasioned. ;-)
