VERY Impressive. So awesome the way this has been re-issued.
Whoa! THIS is so f'in' cool. The packaging is JUST awesome. They've reproduced the front and back of the original album cover for starters. When you remove the CD, you'll find it is in a this plastic sleeve. There is yet another insert though which is a reproduction of the original paper sleeve that the LP first came in. Printed on the sleeve are other releases available from Capitol Records at the same time of release. Boomers will know the type sleeve with other artists available I just mentioned. It's just very cool. The fidelity of the disc itself, well it has both the mono and stereo versions of each song as you may have noticed in checking this out. Personally, I prefer the mono version because my older 5.1 Surround Sound System does not have an easy access balance control like older Hi-Fi's which would come in handy playing the Stereo version because to me, the very first track, Roll Over Beethoven was just a bit too heavy with the hand-clapping coming from the one side of the system. It just sounded out of balance to me. A little overwhelming really. (Early 8 Track Tape Players not properly grounded or balanced would estroy this. Anyone hearing the song for the first time wouldn't know half of the recorded tracks missing.)Back to the packaging though, it's like a miniature album reproduction. The disc itself is also a carbon copy of the record's printed label which takes up the circumference & diameter of the disc, that's the best I can describe it. You DON'T have to play the stereo or mono versions if you prefer one over the other but I find the two options a more attractive and better deal than CD's that come with Bonus Tracks myself.

You simply can't do it any better than these guys did.
Great recording from the Fab Four. The album is a mix of band written material and covers. The covers are so well done it's like they were original Beatles tunes. "Roll Over Beethoven" and "Long Tall Sally" are two of the covers which really rock, and "You've Really Got A Hold On Me" is a beautiful rendition. "Money" is still as pertinent today as the day it was recorded. And "Please Mr. Postman" is a great memory inducer from my childhood. And of course the mega-hit "She Loves You" is here too.You can simply can't do it any better than these guys did. They would soon emerge as song writing royalty and their musicianship was wonderful. You can pick any, any, Beatles album and it will likely be the best possible choice. And this band isn't my number one band, but I think they were easily the greatest musical group ever. This CD gives the stereo and mono versions of each song.

The essential and must have american mix.
The title of this review for this musical artwork is just that "essential" and "must" why do you ask! I will tell you why! When capitol records(EMI America) was receiving some of the early mixes from Parlephone (EMI U.K.) they were remixed here and sometimes were added more echo on the backtracks for am radio playing among other various remixing techniques, which distinguished the sound of vocals, bass, guitars and mono effects and so on. What makes this album worth having is of course the mix of all these songs together! And they are dam good! Everyone of these songs have a different sound on the English versions! For me being an ardent lennonist, the mix of "I Call Your Name" is awesome! Why? If you listen closely in the back you can hear his rhythm guitar part on this song, (he was a rhythm genius ex. "all my loving") which in the English version is almost completely buried! I still would love to have the opportunity to re-mix this song myself if it were possible and bring up John's guitar up more, if of course the master is not on 2 track! With everything said if you have a complete Beatles Collection (all UK versions) this is one album you will need to have for it is an "essential" and "must" have for a true Beatles disciple!

Beatles, music for life, go back to the begining and dream away.
This music is one of the reasons BeatleMania continued to grow throughout the 1960's. The fact the guys all had very distinct and genuine personalities. But it was the music that was the real draw. The 2nd album proved that the group was not a one hit wonder, like many other groups of that error. The Beatles continued to grow as artist and song writers. I know many people who wish they had a time machine, this is it, play the first album then get ready and launch number two. It's a lifetime ride

Perfect
Beatles were my husbands favorite of all time. He passed November 2018 & we were unable too find all his albums from years ago. This Father’s Day we replaced some of his favorites as a reminder of the things he loved! Even bought a turntable!!!

Gotta Love 'Em!
My neighbor had her own record player so I would take my Beatles albums over to her house and we'd play them until her mom made us stop. Now I can play them whenever I want and nobody can tell me what to do. A bonus to getting older!

The Other Excellent US Beatles Album.
This album (along with Beatles VI) is the best of the US albums. It's mostly a rocker, with some R&B tunes thrown in for good measure. Add the cool retro packaging, and you'll be looking at the TV Guide to see when the Lads from Liverpool will be on The Ed Sullivan Show. Yeah yeah yeah.

Seems fine
I just decided to order some Beatles CDs I needed to fill in the missing pieces in my collection. I never owned the vinyl of this one, but my sister did (we took turns buying their records). Nice to own it after all these years.
