Hitler's Suppressed and Still-Secret Weapons, Science and Technology

A brief compendium of Nazi black weapons, science and technology secrets.
A brief compendium of Nazi black weapons, science and technology secrets.Mr. Henry Stevens' primer on Nazi black weapons, science and technology secrets is a quick read. He covers a lot of ground in short, superficial chapters that averaged about 8 pages per individual topic. Most of what Mr. Stevens discusses has been covered before in more definitive fashion. In particular I recommend Nick Cook's The Hunt for Zero Point (excellent), David Porter's Hitler's Secret Weapons: 1933-1945 (Outstanding), and Geoffrey Thomas' KG 200 The Luftwaffe's Most Secret Unit (Outstanding). There are others but these will pretty much cover the Nazi black weapons operation in definitive depth.Mr. Stevens' book is a good primer on the secret world of Nazi black weapons. Generally it is superficially accurate although his documentation is weak and spotty. More definitive footnoting or endnotes with a good, solid bibliography would have given this book more gravitas. The brief chapters gives the reader a smattering of the complex nature of Hitler's large black weapon research and operations. One can quickly see quite a lot was going on before and during the war in regards to Nazi secret weapons, science, and technology. Fortunately for the Allies, during most of the war Hitler's black ops was too decentralized and scattered to be effective. Finally in late 1943, the mysterious SS General Dr. Hans Kammler took charge of the Hitler's black weapons ops and the program exploded resulting in a plethora of new weapons, science and technology. Still, operating at max capacity and peak efficiency it was too little too late to save Hitler and Germany from unconditional defeat.Hitler's bragged that his "Wunder Weapons" would turn his Reich's defeat into victory. They did not. But, the Allies realized their importance in a changing world and raced to bag as many of the Nazi scientists and weapons as they could resulting in a whole new world of Allied Black Operations. Mr. Stevens' superficial book highlights this and pounds home the importance of what German weapon advancement, science and technology accomplished during WW2 and how it affects what we see and do today.I recommend this as a superficial primer only. Good as a general overview of what Germany was doing in the world of black operations in regards to secret weapons, science, and technology. For a more definitive exploration of this subject see the other books I outlined in this review.

At last the truth comes out
In my years of researching on scientific esoterism, I had been constantly stymied by the reactionarism of traditional military technology scholars and their dogma that World War Two German scientists were unable to deliver on high-level research and development projects. There were times that I felt it would be impossible to ever learn what really caused some of the very odd actions that were undertaken by the Allied powers during 1945. Author Henry Stevens has now given me hope to continue on with my beliefs. His informatiive expose of the true facts surrounding the so-called "black" programs is a breath - no...a veritable windstorm - that cleanses one's mind of the dustiness of conventional thinking.Within the covers of this unique tome, author Stevens provides the sort of documentation any clear-thinking individual would require to allow oneself to accept notions that have been - in all likelihood - suppressed since the end of the Second World War for reasons and motives that can only be imagined. In reading through this book, it became apparent that I was not alone in having been mislead by those who seek to blind us to the truth about our world and the tenuous inter-relationship between what it is and what it was supposed to be. Upon completion of the treatises laid ut, I know that it has got to be all true. Otherwise, how could it have been written? I urge you to obtain this book and - as I did - wonder at why you were never able to comprehend the self-obvious trusims that lay behind the statements made here. How did we ever not believe that there were post-war nazi bases in Antartica that were attacked by Bush's minions under the cover of the assaults on Iraq? And, exactly how could we possibly beleive that the Manhattan Project was successful instead of the oh-so-certain reality that the ALSOS missions had no other purpose that wresting German-made bombs from their owners for use on Japan? These are but two of the revelations that await you in a book - the message of which was so important and urgent - that its author and publisher elected to reduce proof-reading time to get it into print.Oh...one more thing...I was being sarcastic. This book is poorly written fiction. I wish I knew if the author is presenting it as that or whether he believes the stuff he writes.

Outstanding Book, Highly Recommended
This book is an outstanding bit of research, I also liked how it was written and architected. It is broken up into easily understandable parts and the author does his best to break complex ideas into understandable practical application.I am not sure what books the other reviewers have read that are more "thorough" than this one. The writer does not lapse into insane conspiracy theories nor does he make any claims that he cannot back up without reasonable historical reference. If he does site theory that is inconsistent with the history or proof he says so.This book is a much, much easier read than the other Nazi weapson/history books. It is also grounded in reality which makes it a bit more scary and DOes in fact make me wonder what our government did with all of the information they culled from the Axis powers at the end of WWII.The only part of this book that I would like to see expanded is the discussion around the impacts of this technology on every day life. Clearly many of the ideas the Germans were working on migrated from Germany to the US and Russia. Are many of those secrets still waiting to wander out of Pandoras box today?Could any of the Nazi Technologies actually be used to help the world (such as alternative energy technologies)? What every happened to the U-boat that made it to South America after the war?Hopefully the author will write another book that explores new findings and paints a picture of how the Germans continue to effect the world.Unfortunately it seems like the most used items that came from the Nazis still seems to be torture technique. Hopefully the world will learn from their evil.

Great book but it is doubtful that most of this technology either worked, or made it out of the lab
Ever since "The X-Files" graced our screens there has been some thin veneer of geek-glamour spread over sci-fi technology. You need only mix in the Nazis and BINGO! Gold-dust. Just look at the Marvel Avengers fascination with the Hydra organisation or the cartoon-cut-out bad guys in the first Indiana Jones movie. Before you read Henry Stevens's second book in his (recommended) trilogy on the topic in might be useful to inoculate yourself by googling "Kurt Tank Argentina" to read the story of the development of the FMA IAe 33 Pulqui II. Kurt designed fighter planes for the Nazis and at the war end he fled to Argentina with designs for the then-highly-advanced Ta 183 Huckebein. He worked for years to realise the project. It was finally cancelled in 1961 & Argentina purchased F-86 Sabres instead. Europe was in chaos in 1946. There were many many desperate people willing to tell the Allies ANYTHING to improve their lot. Much of the gross exaggeration of the German technological achievements stem from that chaos. No doubt most, if not all, of these novel technologies were being studied but it is doubtful any of them made it out of the lab. What is more fascinating is the question as to why was Germany so scientifically prolific and technologically advanced form 1918 through to 1945? Stevens gets close to the answers in Chapter 38 where he speculates that maybe Nazi-science's rejection of "Jewish science" might have lead them off in new directions. Maybe. Another view comes from Laurence Rees' "The Dark Charisma of Adolf Hitler" where the author details the sense of liberation many Germans felt under the Nazis. They felt they could achieve anything and anything was possible. This and vast quantities of money for any military projects certainly helped. Nobody wanted to admit to the SS that their new toy didn't work. What is most troubling for the reader is the problem of exactly where did most of this tech end-up? We can only assume that most of it simply didn't work. We should not fool ourselves otherwise. Stevens' book on this topic remains one of the best yet it is sobering to recall that we don't live in a world of technology invented by the Nazis. To pretend it is suppressed is just tin-foil hat conspiracy theory junk.

Interesting information poorly presented
Perhaps I was spoiled by the Joseph Farrell books 'Reich of the Black Sun' and'Brotherhood of the Bell'. Henry Stevens did a reasonable job with his book on German UFOs, but this comes over almost as an afterthought (which, according to the author, it may actually have been, originally...).Yes the information is quite interesting, and yes it is often difficult to quote sources. But his typos are too frequent and very annoying, and his written style is almost 'careless'. It comes over as something between a dictionary of German secret technology and a thriller, but does neither of these categories sufficient justice. If the reader is a beginner in this or wants more or less just the bare bones, this may be a satisfactory read. Otherwise, J.P.Farrell is much better on all counts.

Whooa...
If only half the technology depicted in this book actually existed it would still be unbelievable. X-ray lasers in 1944? Ultrasound Containment Fusion in 1950? Despite the typo errors in the text, this is still a must-read for anyone interested in the rewriting of history by the Allies after 1945.Some of the "secret weapons"are more convincing than others;-for instance, the book convinces me that the A10 actually existed and flew.Henry Stevens also addresses how these "quantum leaps"in technology came about, and this is the truly worrying aspect to it all- the technology revealed here was intrinsically linked to the ideology that gave birth to it-buy into the technology and it comes with an ideological cargo. Operation Paperclip,as the Americans found out too late, was the ultimate Trojan Horse!

Interesting read
This is an interesting read; although the author and/or publisher do not have access to either proof readers or spellcheckers, there are numerous spelling errors. However, the content is interesting and appears to show how advanced German science and engineering was in WW2 and quite why the American led axis was so concerned about this technology and the means of appropriating it.Overall, then a good read spoilt by lazy grammar and spelling but the content in and of itself is worthy of attention.

A Great Book
Puts the public minds into the factual knowledge of how advanced the scientist's, designers and engineer's of this then great country, were light years ahead of any other civilisations on earth. A reason for USA, UK and Russia, to hastily round up these scientist, designers and engineers at the close of the Second World War, as they did, granting them immunity from any war crimes others lost there lives for; in the creation of a smoke screen made to deceive the public as to the true purpose of involvement in this war. A quick look at the designs of these machines leave the reader in no illusion as to why the allies wanted to band together for this war. Not to protect any people, but to advance there own aim's of total control, to become a fourth Reich and dominate the world themselves, for there own interests. Another good read that substantiates this is ' Hitler in Argentina' it will show you without any pretence what really happened to this dictator, a truth really known by these same allies. Do if interested in these deceptions, read this also; it does help fill in the details properly of the true purpose behind much of this deception and unnecessary loss of life.
