There's nothing wrong with this cap.
I saw the one-star reviews below & wanted to set a couple of things straight about this cap.First, while it's true that with certain brand filters the cap does not adequately thread on to the filter, it's a very easy fix. If it won't screw on well enough to hold it to the lens, get a Zeikos UV filter. The Zeikos filters have nice, deep threads that are plenty long enough to hold the Fast Cap's threaded ring very well. I'm sure there are many other filters that would work well too, but I can personally vouch for the Zeikos filters. Zeikos filters also happen to be cheap and very good quality.Second, it's also true that you can't screw on additional filters with the Fast Cap in place. But if they made it so you could, you'd be looking at a MUCH more expensive, and bulky product. In order to make it so you could use additional filters with the Fast Cap in place, they would have to:1) Make the front much deeper like a lens hood2) Make it somewhat larger in diameter to accomodate the filter3) And they would have had to made it with a locking telescoping mechanism so you could either slide the front flare with the cap backwards to be able to grip the filter to remove it, or allow you to remove the front flare with the cap altogether, so you could unscrew the filter. In addition to the cost, there's also the side effect of making it more bulky, and some photographers probably wouldn't like that, either. Here's something else to consider, if you use a digital SLR: Other than a UV filter to protect the lens, how often do you use filters anyway? Most any effect or color correction imaginable is easily done, and with much more precision, with your photo editing software, like Photoshop. Filters on a DSLR aren't the neccessity they used to be with film cameras.I have used Fast Caps for years on my lenses for years & I love 'em. Not having to fumble around with a separate lens cap makes me a better photographer, since it allows me to concentrate solely on getting the shot. And I'm sure they've paid for themselves in what would have been lost caps over the years. I think they're a great idea and a terrific product.

Probably the best lens cover I've ever had
From my point of view, a lens cover should (1) protect the lens (2) stay on when you want it on, and (3) come off readily when you want to grab a quick shot, (4) not easily get lost, and (5) be easily re-installed on the lens after shooting. This one does ALL those things VERY well. It's tough, and likely to last as long as my lens. The hinge arrangement make for a very quick ready-to-shoot configuration, and it's ready to instantly put away after shooting. As another reviewer noted, at short focal lengths, the fixed rim of the lens cover will show up at the edge of your photos creating a kind of circular frame of the picture. Definitely a drawback, I've docked it a star. However, I've discovered that after flipping open the cover, I can use the open cap as a lever to quickly unscrew the whole device from the lens and catch my desired wide-angle shot. This takes just a couple seconds, so rarely will it lose me the shot. It's then pretty quick to screw it back on. Another work-around would be to buy a filter reduction ring and step up to the larger size Op/Tech cover.

Keeps water droplets off the lens
OP/TECH Fast Caps screw into the filter threads on your lenses, and can be oriented to open in any direction. To use, simply pop the cap open with a push of your thumb on the tab; it will spring open all the way out of the camera's view. To close, push it back again. You never have to think about where to stash a loose cap or remember where you put it after the photo's taken. I've used older Fast Caps for decades on my Nikonos V camera, which used to hang around my neck when sea kayaking. The Fast Cap protected the lens not just from bumps and dust, but just as importantly, from water droplets that might spoil a picture. With the improved gasket on the new Fast Caps, I expect it will keep water off the lens even if it is dunked. Now that I've switched to a digital camera (a Sony RX100), I've added a Fast Cap to its Meikon underwater housing for all the old reasons, but especially to keep those danged water droplets off the lens plate.

A very unique cap, negates the use of a lens shade
This cap is really cool, as it's basically impossible to lose. I like that you can take it off with a flick and put it back on just as easily. It is well made and should also protect the end of my lens. The only downside, and the reason for a loss of a star, is that the design doesn't support a lens shade. I'm not sure it's even possible to design it so that it would continue to work with a shade, maybe they should make one that includes a shade... So, depending on where I'm going, I have to choose either this lens cap and no shade, or swap out with a stock lens cap and have the shade work.

Nice cap
I got one of these to put on my Panasonic HC-X920 to provide some protection to the filter lens that I mounted to the camera.I find the attached flip cap to be very easy and convenient to use. I don't have to worry about securing a removable cap or having a removable cap flapping around on a tether. I have it positioned so it flips open toward the bottom of the camera. It doesn't block the microphone or interfere with my use of the camera. The one minor problem that I have is that the cap when mounted to my filter lens has enough height to be seen at the edges of the shot when the camera is moving the lens around at its extremes to reduce high shakiness in the shot. You only notice is as a darkening in the corners during extreme movement so it isn't terrible but something to be aware of if you are using a filter ring like I do.Overall a well made product that I would readily recommend.

well made and hinges easily with being floppy
Fits well, well made and hinges easily with being floppy. One snag, at wide angle on my Sony RX10M4 zoom lens, it does vignette, so if I must use that focal length, I have to unscrew it. Doesn't happen often.

Better than standard caps
This is far better than normal lens caps which are put down during a shoot then lost. Simply flip down take your pictures then click up again. When available I will get another for my other lens.
