The Schatten RB-2 Rockabilly Upright Bass Pickup System includes two sensors, one for the bridge and another for the fingerboard, each with its own volume control. A rosewood instrument jack assembly clamps between the D and A strings just above the tailpice. The entire system is prewired and requires no soldering or drilling. The RB-2 is a passive system that has enough output to drive an amplifier directly, but you can add a preamp or direct box if you need more control over the sound or a stronger signal for plugging into a mixer board or PA system. The main RB sensor element is designed to fit in the wing slot of a bass bridge. Normal placement of the sensor is in the bass side slot. The sensor has a nominal thickness of 0.25″ (6.35mm) and requires a slot opening of approximately 0.225″ (5.7). The fit of the sensor in the slot is meant to be snug and there is intended to be a slight interference fit. The sensor will compress slightly as it is pushed into the wing slot. Bridge not included. The second sensor element s to the underside of the fingerboard for that Rock-A-Billy string slap. Both sensors have a volume control so that you can individually adjust the effect of each pickup.
