I think this horror flick was Sissy Spacek's best movie of them all and plays an unpopular reclusive abused high school teenage girl(Carrie White) with interesting telekenetic powers along with the fact that this movie had showed us a lot what it's like for typical everyday high school students and what we all have or had to go through while we were growing up such as being a teenager that got picked on, dealing with peer pressures, growing pains, sex, dating, relationships, etc.; that most adolescents go through, which assured a lot of us that we're not alone in that department, not to mention CARRIE had some very cute chicks in it too, including the outstanding and sexy Nancy Allen as the wicked popular bad girl(Christine Hargenson).CARRIE also starts out deliciously nasty with a lot of graphic nudity; especially Nancy Allen who has beautiful bouncy ta-tas & pretty pubic-hair as she steps out of the girls lockerroom showers walking to the center of an all-girls only lockerroom with a bunch of sexy high school teenage girls flocking together roaming around as naked as the day they were born as they're freshening up at the ending of their PE class by grooming themselves, changing clothes, taking showers, dressing, undressing, & brushing their hair like a typical high school girls gym looks like in real-life after the ending of a typical high school PE Period except they used soft beautiful music scoring by Pino Donaggio for the girls lockerroom scene in slow motion at the beginning of this terror flick, which is very unusual since most movies with nude scenes in a lockerroom don't use any music composing for those scenes at all, unlike CARRIE, which was another thing that made the girls lockerroom scene in this Bryan De Palma film so intriguing.In addition, I think the girls lockerroom scene at the beginning of this flick was also the best nude scene for Nancy Allen, Sissy Spacek, & PJ Soles in their entire acting career along with half the other gals shown bare-assed & bare-breasted in the girls gym, including PJ Soles(Norma)in the girls shower stalls which goes to show you that females weren't uncomfortable to be naked in front of and/or around other women back then as opposed to how it supposedly is nowadays, especially adolescents.As a matter of fact, the lockerroom scene at the beginning of this movie was my favorite scene throughout this entire film, especially since I really enjoyed seeing Sissy Spacek, Nancy Allen, and P.J. Soles undressed like many other people did, which I'm sure was another reason that made this thriller CARRIE so popular back in the 70's when it made its theatrical release in the Fall of 1976 and why so many people still like to watch the movie from time to time to this very day, except you cant enjoy it nearly as much if you watch this movie on cable TV or in syndication, since this flick contains too many scenes that are too gory, too sexy, & too offensive, including lots of profanity.I also like the way the PE teacher Ms. Collins(Betty Buckley) stood up for Carrie and how she handled & berated all the girls in Carrie's PE class after harrassing Carrie with the crappy stunt they pulled on Carrie when she freaks out while wiping the blood from her vagina not realizing that she started her period for the very first time being clueless to the facts of life on puberty.I especially liked the way the PE Teacher handled Hargenson, since Hargenson ended up getting what she deserved from Miss Collins, especially after the vicious incident that Hargenson instigated on Carrie with the bombarding of the tampons in the lockeroom and when Ms. Collins turns the tables on malicious Hargenson when she ends up slapping the obnoxious Hargenson and nearly knocking her on her ass out on the football field after the relentless Hargenson pulls a hasty stunt on Miss Collins by talking back to her and trying to get the rest of her PE classmates to unionize against the coach, except the cold-blooded Hargenson's idea & stunt ends up failing and getting herself banned from the prom instead.One of the things that I found baffling in this movie that I found kind of corny was Hargensons pal and partner in crime(Norma)never took her hat off in the movie with the exception of Norma's nude scene in the girls lockerroom showers in full-frontal nudity, which I also found intriguing, since PJ Soles also came out in John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN 2 years later playing the devirginized sassy high school cheerleeder(Lynda) who also ends up dying in that 1978 flick as well, which also did a cool sex scene in that movie with partial nudity showing PJ's hooters, except P.J. Soles wasn't as annoying or as snotty in John Carpenters HALLOWEEN as she was in CARRIE.In fact, P.J. Soles sexy nude scene in the girls lockerroom at the beginning of the movie CARRIE is initially what helped PJ Soles to get the role for Lynda in John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN, since P.J. Soles impressive nude scene in CARRIE had potentially inspired John Carpenter to consider P.J. Soles for a teenage role in HALLOWEEN and chances are Nancy Allen's intriguing nude scene in full-frontal nudity in CARRIE had inspired director(Bryan DePalma) for her sexy nude scene in the shower in DRESSED TO KILL 4 years later along with the fact that Nancy Allen and Bryan De Palma were later married in 1979, but divorced in 1984.I also found it to be a shame that Carrie even ended up killing Ms. Collins(Betty Buckley) towards the end of the movie when Carrie ends up killing most of the prom attendants at her high school when she uses her powers to blow up the whole gymnasium after the stuck up Hargenson and her sleazy low-life boyfriend Billy Nolan(John Travolta) pull a nasty stunt on Carrie by dumping pigs blood on her after getting elected prom queen with her prom date Tommy Ross(Bill Katt) to ruin and embarrass the hell out of Carrie at the prom, in order to avenge Carrie, especially after snotty Hargenson ends up getting restricted from the the prom by Miss. Collins.I also enjoyed watching the bonus features on this DVD behind the making of CARRIE describing how they did the destruction scene in the gym when Carrie set it on fire killing just about everyone who attended the prom and how they actually used cornsyrup and red paint and food-coloring for the pigs blood that the malicious Hargenson dumped on Carrie at the prom and that Nancy Allen and De Palma eventually became an item & got married in real life when they made this movie CARRIE and the terror flick DRESSED TO KILL, not to mention CARRIE & DRESSED TO KILL were probably DePalma's 2 greatest movies ever made and directed by him of all times.The bonus features on this CARRIE DVD also contain a lot of the co-stars like Sissy Spacek, Nancy Allen, Betty Buckley, Amy Irving, and Piper Laurie along with De Palma telling us about their experience while making and filming the movie CARRIE like how Nancy Allen and Betty Buckley had to keep rehearsing the slapping scene out on the football field about 30 times till they got it right, in order to make it convincing for audiences.In addition to that bonus feature; De Palma explained how tough it was for all the lady co-stars in this movie who did a nude scene in the girls lockerroom at the beginning of this flick and how it created a lot of tension for them, which even contributed to some of those lady co-stars balking out and crying in the process since it made them feel uncomfortable having to waltz around with a lot of tits and ass in front of the camera in real-life showing off their Womanhood while filming this movie, especially since at least half of them had to be buck-naked which probably made this the hardest scene of all to do in this entire movie, despite the fact that all of Sissy Spacek and all her co-stars, including Nancy Allen and PJ Soles weren't even teenagers anymore when De Palma filmed this movie back in 1976 since Spacek along with the rest of her co-stars were already adults in their 20's, 30's, and 40's, except Spacek, Allen, and Soles still looked young enough to be teenage girls in high school back then in order to make this flick a success.Nancy Allen also added on that bonus feature behind the scenes on the movie CARRIE by explaining how she ended up enjoying that adolescent nude scene in the all girls only lockerroom afterwhile since it actually ended up working out very well in a way since that nude scene made Nancy Allen and all the other female co-stars in that movie bond together beautifully since it helped her and some of her other lady co-stars in this flick,including Sissy Spacek and PJ Soles overcome their fear and tension of being butt-naked in front of the camera while filming this movie during that lockerroom scene at the beginning of CARRIE along with the fact that movies rarely start out with an intriguing nude scene beaver & all, which was another thing that kind of made the movie CARRIE quite genuine.In addition to that; De Palma added in the bonus feature special that a lot of the lady co-stars and extras in this movie were great troopers at doing the nude scene in the girls gym at the beginning of this movie, especially the gals who were shown in full-frontal nudity, but that in actuality they had filmed Sissy's nude scene in the girls lockerroom showers before they had actually filmed Carrie's classmates/Sissy's co-stars in the nude in order to give Sissy's co-stars a lot more self-confidence to be completley naked with the 3B's(Breast, Bush, Breast)during the girls gym scene at the beginning of this flick in order to convince all the female co-stars in this movie that if Sissy Spacek could do a nude scene in the girls lockerroom showers without any qualms that the rest of the female co-stars can do the nude scene in the girls lockerroom too, not to mention that whole nude scene at the beginning of this movie also shows us how gals groomed themselves a lot differently back then in the 70's than they do nowadays on top of that.Therefore, De Palma and all the film editors had spliced the nude scenes with Sissy showering in the ladies lockerroom stalls and the nude scenes of the rest of her female co-stars in the girls gym to make it look like all of Carrie's classmates had showered at the end of their P.E. class before Carrie White(Sissy Spacek)took her shower in those same shower stalls alone to make Carrie look like an outcast, but De Palma and the film experts had revised the scenes when they spliced them out by revising and rearranging the sequences of each scene in the order they wanted them shown in this flick in order to give the rest of the female co-stars enough confidence to do that remarkable skinteresting, titacular, mufftastic lockerroom scene in the girls lockerroom with lots of female genitalia.Additionally, P.J. Soles had explained in that bonus feature how she was originally scheduled to only be on the set for only a few days, but De Palma had decided to keep her on longer and to do more scenes and that De Palma got the idea for PJ Soles to wear her cap in every scene when he met P.J. Soles for the very first time when she came to audition for the part of Norma Watson since P.J. Soles was already wearing a cap in real life and felt it was catchy.Therefore, De Palma had PJ Soles wear her hat in every scene she did in the movie with the exception of her nude scene in the girls lockerroom showers at the beginning of this flick when P.J. Soles shows off her sexy genitals.It was also interesting seeing Bill Katt before his GREATEST AMERICAN HERO days and John Travolta in this movie during his WELCOME BACK KOTTER days and before he became famous and popular as well as before doing the movie SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER.It's just too bad that they didn't end up picking Jamie-Lee Curtis to be a co-star in this movie too, because I think Jamie-Lee Curtis would've been awesome in this movie, kind of like she was in the movies PROM NIGHT, HALLOWEEN, and THE FOG, not to mention the 1980's flick PROM NIGHT was a tad similar to CARRIE since PROM NIGHT was like a cross between HALLOWEEN & CARRIE, but this movie CARRIE takes me all the way back to memory lane to life in the 70's such as sex, drugs, Rock & Roll, Disco music, Bell-bottomed pants, fluffy poofy hairdos, going to your high school Junior and/or Senior Prom, etc.

Just so everyone understands how I rated this movie, here is the break down:1 star - hated it2 stars - disliked it3 stars - average4 stars - liked it5 stars - loved it!So before everyone starts sending me hate mail about how the movie isn't perfect, understand that I am not saying that it is. I will admit that a lot of people don't seem to like this movie as much as I do though. However, I think that some of the most fantastic scenes ever caught on film exist in this movie.I really LOVE Piper Laurie and Sissey Spacek. They were amazing! They are the first thing that I will ever mention about this movie because I continue to go back and re-watch this film because of them.I loved all the details that Sissey Spacek put into Carrie's character. She would stretch her sleeves to show her nervousness. Her face would almost seem to genuinely swell up when she was dealing with pressure. I was quite frankly flabbergasted. I don't know how she did it. Of all the actors/actresses in this movie, Sissey Spacek just really stood out. She did not look like she was acting. I kept wondering to myself the entire time, where did they get this girl from?Piper Laurie I could tell was taking a comedic approach to her script and I loved it! She did a bang up job in her performance. I loved her interpretation of the pain that she was experiencing as pleasurable. I could sense her strange sense of humor as she did it and it definitely added a creepy touch to her performance. Plus, I just loved watching her as she confided to Carrie her deepest darkest secrets from her past and as she bombarded Carrie with her warped perspective on her religious beliefs.Heck, I loved the casting in general and I feel bad picking out favorites. For instance, I think that Nancy Allen (Robocop!), Amy Irving, Priscilla Pointer, and Betty Buckley were also in some of the best scenes ever caught on film in this movie. Priscilla Pointer and Amy Irving were undoubtedly in the scariest scene in the entire movie. I completely loved Nancy Allen's performance where she was in a car with John Travolta's character, Billy Nolan. Lastly, Betty Buckley was perfectly chosen for her role as a gym instructor and I loved watching her whipping everyone in her class into shape for the terrible things that they had done to Carry.I loved the use of nudity in order to expose the characters' frailnesses and fragilities. It really created a sense of pure evil in the scenes that had nudity and it made me think about the kind of evil that people were capable of (even though this is all fiction). I would certainly hope that something like what is depicted in this movie would never happen in real life.I loved the use of cameras and editing in the film. I don't think many people pay attention to just how cool this was. There is a scene where the film was sped up during a moment of comedic relief. I thought it was very appropriate and made the scene very funny. There is also a scene where the camera travels along a contraption that will ultimately be used towards Carrie's humiliation and then it completes its shot by focusing on the contraption's targets, Carrie and Tommy Ross.Lastly, I'll complete this by quoting the lines from the three scenes that constantly go through my head whenever I think about this movie:1) Carrie: I mean, all the kids think I'm funny, and I don't wanna be. I wanna be normal, I wanna start to try me, a whole person, before it's too late for me to -[Margaret throws tea on her face, Carrie wipes it off]2) Margaret White: Witch. Got Satan's Power.Carrie White: It has nothing to do with Satan, Mama. It's me. Me. If I concentrate hard enough, I can move things.3) Margaret White: And Eve was weak, say it!Carrie: No!Margaret White: Eve was weak!Carrie: No!Margaret White: Eve was weak, say it woman!Carrie: No!Margaret White: Say it!Carrie: Eve was weak, Eve was weak.

Buffered a little bit.Story was good. Sad but good.

Carrie is, purely in my opinion, Stephen King's best novel and this movie adaptation, also in my opinion, is his best. Brian DePalma knows how to work a scene, how to bleed it dry, and how to make it cathartic. And Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie have such amazing on-scene chemistry you believe every nuance of their emotionally-destructive relationship.Carrie White is one of fiction's most tragic characters. She wants a normal life, a life of love and happiness and, above all else, acceptance, and just when she sees glimpses of these things coming to fruition, just when you can cheer for her at her happiest moment, things go terribly wrong and the reality of her horrible life becomes real again. I went into Carrie knowing full well how the movie would end but I was still in torturous suspense as DePalma milked the prom scene in slow-motion for all it was worth. All building up to one of the most satisfyingly cathartic climaxes in horror movie history. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more terrifying and exciting visual than Carrie White, red with blood, standing on stage, the drapes behind her spilling fire. I've seen this movie at least five times since I was a kid and every single time my emotions are needle sharp by the end.If you want a horror movie with the kind of slow agonizing pacing and character building that makes you fall in love, then shatters your heart, then leads you with merriment into death and destruction - the kind of pacing and character building that is very rare in today's horror movies - I highly recommend Carrie!

I bought this book for a Stephen King fan, who had not read his first attempt. She was very pleased to receive it.

Not necessarily a horror, and it’s more sad than scary, but still one of the best films to come from the pages of King.

la presentación de blu ray con fondo blanco y el título con sangre viene doblada al español latino y subtitulada. también tiene añadida una especie de protector de caratula muy bonita y eso es un bonito detalle el cual estoy seguro no todas lo traerán. Me parece solo unas cuantas copias debido a la fecha del día de muertos por eso no se especifica en los detalles por lo tanto me agradó haber sido uno de los que si alcanzó. La película aún me produce un estado de tensión en lo que es su escena más iconica.
