Mossy Oak Trail Marking Tacks

My husband came to me asking for some reflective tacks for hunting trails, so I was able to find these thankfully. These worked for exactly what he needed. They are top quality and don’t have plastic tips with stickers that will just peel off. He sent me a picture and they reflect really well too. These will last several seasons, I’m sure. And great price.

These are better than caution tape and last a few seasons. Marking tacks are easy to install and remove, plus can't be seen in the day time unlike caution tape, or other flags. Best way to mark a trail or any trail. I even place them low to the ground.above a normal flashlight, headlight field of view.

Always work well. I have some of these on paths from 6 years ago. However as the tree grows the bark will shed some of the tacks. Put them at knee level no higher than waist level and check them every season.A bit pricey for the amount given.

A reflective thumb tack has only two jobs in this world. 1) Get pushed inside the tree bark and stay there firmly and 2) Reflect light when a flashlight is aimed at it. Well, these thumb tacks do neither jobs properly. The tacks are flimsy and not sharp enough so half the time the shafts break off as you try to push them into the tree and 2) you can barely see them in the dark when shining (even a high power) flashlight. Poor reflectivity characteristics.Unfortunately none of the tacks on the market are decent anymore. Seems like a few years ago, they were great, and as makers find ways to make them cheaper and cheaper, we the consumers lose out and end up with lousy products like this one.

These will work out well for hunting!

These Trail Marking Tacks are a campsite essential. Especially important in trackless wilderness like the Catskills or Adirondacks. Nighttime is no time to lose your way when you need to get water, use the latrine, or set up a tent away from the main camp. These tacks are so inconspicuous that they can be left in place, and, nobody notices. Then at night they are a lifesaver. Get more than one pack because you'll end up using a lot of them, on both sides of trees.

The reflection from these tacks is clear from a good distance when using an inexpensive LED forehead light in the timber.

They shine like they’re supposed to

I like the white vs orange reflector tacks. There less noticeable during the day if hunting public land. I spread them out 10-15 yards apart. Great visibility/reflective in the darkness.

Great quality push pins. You can see them as clear as day while walking in the forest at night with a flashlight. Reusable as well.
