Nice collection, easy to play
This thirty-six country and western classics with words, music and chords (including diagrams) for ukulele in a 6-3/4 x 10-1/2 inch format is convenient to carry in your gig bag. The songs are mostly familiar and presented in easy to play keys. The two drawbacks, neither major, are both related to the size and binding of the book: it resists staying open on the music stand unless it is clamped in some manner, and the font for the words is smaller than is comfortable for me when playing with the book on the stand.

Nice Selection; Great for Beginners
The selection is limited to "classic country" which is one of my favorite genres of music, so I'm biased. But, you wouldn't be buying this if you weren't biased, I suppose. I guess my point is that you won't find any Reba McEntire or Shania Twain in this book. It's Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline territory, so be expecting that if you buy it.Some of the chords are a little boring, but country music is often three chords, so what can you do? The chords are always appropriate, though and sound great. "Crying" is especially good, as well as "Tennessee Waltz" and "Crazy."Also, this is certainly a valuable book for ukulele beginners. Because the chords are often repetitive, they become familiar quickly and ingrain themselves in the mind, thus familiarizing the player with common song structures and basic music theory. Without even knowing it! Ta da!I've had a lot of fun with this book, and I highly recommend it.

Mediocre song selection- title misleading
I enjoy many of his uke books. They are well done and arrangements are good ones. This title sadly is misleading as Country means an entirely different genre to most musicians. These are nice old songs but not true country.

just great!!
just great!!! classic country western....THREE Patsy Cline songs that I played for my mom and totally wowed her!!! I've had my uke for about three months now and this book is definitely good for a starter like I am - but I can see the potential for increased difficulty if someone desires to add chords or fingering. I was looking for a book to have songs to play around the camp fire and for my own enjoyment - I found it!

Uke Country & Western
Ukulele Country is like the title says, classic country & western arranged for ukulele. The fingerings are simple and easy to follow, and if country music to you means vintage Roger Miller, Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams, then this book has a song for you. I've been playing uke for a few months (when I need a break from guitar) and easily mastered many of these tunes. This is not that modern country you hear on the radio now, but classic country & western. Enjoy!

Great book - I love it!
As a beginner to ukelele, this is a great book with an excellent range of classic country songs. It includes chord diagrams along the music, which is ideal for me as I'm still learning them. It also has complete musical notation, which means you could pick out the tune on the uke if you are good enough (I'm not!). There are some really slow tunes which is great for a beginner and some more lively ones that I can aspire to. I'm finding it a great help to me learning the uke and a lot of fun too. Five stars from me!

Favourite ukulele song book
This is my favourite ukulele song book. It has plenty of songs I actually know, and it shows what chords to play. I use it time & time again.

Not worth the money
No arrangements, no tabs, you can get the words and chords for free online. Old fashion songbook not worth the money.

Good Stuff
A lovely little book for a beginner like me as there are plenty of songs with easy chords to start with, and a few with more difficult ones to work up to. Coupled with the 'Play Ukulele Today! Level 1 - A Complete Guide to the Basics' you can learn the technical stuff and then practice what you've learned by playing a song - much more fun than just doing the exercises on their own. If you are a Country Music officionado you will probably know all the songs but I have to admit not knowing a lot of them. Looking them up on You Tube is normally the answer!
