Simply the best
Although I am a DIY guy, I have considerable experience with wood coatings by HVLP & conventional gravity feed spray guns & have tried all the various brands available in India with varying results but this simply out beats the lot. It goes on with a brush, that's the best part, (with the wood grain of course) & then the brush washes off quick in water, without a fuss, as it is water based. It has a milky colour but dries clear & glossy. If you seal the part-used tin well, it lasts forever as its water based. It also imparts no darker staining effect to the lightest of woods & veneers & that is really commendable feature if you want to retain the original shade of your white cedar or pine grain. It has no VOC or lingering nasty smell like the oil based coatings & it would be extremely tolerable to a novice applier. It does not have that extreme mirror gloss that you would get with an NC or 2 part lacquer but it gives an elegant, rich glow to a veneer which I have not seen before & if you appreciate that kind of finish then this stuff is great. Of course its priced pretty high being imported, but I checked the price is not that much lower in the US itself. I'm sure to pick up a lot more Varathane stuff if they remain in supply on Amazon. If your fussy about a top notch wood finish that's really worth it then this is it

works fantastic
I used this product for finishing a live-edge acacia slab coffee table and it worked beautifully, bringing out the grain without darkening the wood too much (Indian acacia wood tends to turn red over time) or giving a plasticky look or feel. I did get some raised grain (because of the water) but it was easy to handle with a light sanding between coats. Product was delivered on time and in good shape. Wish the seller also gets smaller unit sizes as I'm left with an almost full can after finishing the table :)

Smooth looking without even brushing it perfectly
I needed 4 coats, my wood just absorbed the 1st 2 layers. Don’t know if that’s good or bad but the end result is perfect. So smooth looking. Recommend definitely, will update regarding durability

Excelente Barniz

An amazing product!
When I started to apply it I was really disappointed. It had bubbles everywhere and every brush stroke (I used a foam brush), was obvious. Unlike any product, I have worked with in my 35 years of cabinet making I have always brushed out any flaws in the finish. NOT THIS ONE!!! If you see little bubbles, DO NOT OVERBRUSH, just leave it alone and when you return in less than an hour...they're gone. You do have to work fast, but the product is so forgiving that as long as you get it on the project it will take care of itself.Be mindful that since it is water based that the first coat will raise the grain. After the first coat is completely dry (three hours worked best for me), I lightly sanded with 220, vacuumed thoroughly, and then applied my subsequent coats (4). Just a tip for those of you who may be new to finishing...never work out of the can. Pour off what you need into a margarine container etc. and if you have excess that you want to pour back into the can, pour it through a paint filter. Clean-up was fast and easy. I will never use solvent based polyurethane again!!!
