Is it aligned in the headshell to Technics' specification (52mm from the rubber washer)?

It is always worth it to check that with a protractor - just to be sure- that and the weight and tracking force.

Does this cartridge come pre mounted

This comes pre mounted, however you will still have to adjust tracking weight on your turntable as well as anti skating force. You should also check to make sure that the stylus is tracking accurately with an alignment protractor. There are many videos available on YOUTube to guide you in this process. But.... yes - the headshell/cartridge combo comes premounted. If you buy the cartridge alone, you must mount it to your headshell. This orange cartridge is a step above the green one made by Audio Technica.

will this fit a fluance rt81?

Although it will fit, may I recommend the AT-VM95ML? It is very good!

Can this be a replacement on the at-lp40? not sure the difference between the hs6 and hs4 headshells

The short answer would be yes. The cartridge will fit either the HS4 (straight tone arm) head shell or the HS6 (S-shaped tone arm) no problem. I have only seen it premounted on HS6 head shells up to this point. My understanding is the two head shells are not interchangeable as the angles correspond to either the straight or s-shaped tonearms respectively. You’re best bet if you have a straight arm is to buy the cart un-mounted and mount it to one of your own HS4s... hope this helps.
