great wheel - easy to use, transport and stow.
the assembly instructions were easy to follow, the parts were all cleanly cut and just needed sanding. We used 220 grit sandpaper which was fine for everything except the inner parts of the spokes for which an oscillating sander using 100 followed by 220 grit paper was called for. The top coat was a hard wax. The wheel spins smoothly and quietly, and the three choices of bobbin speed are sufficient for us. The double treadle design is effortless to use compared to a single treadle wheel.

Great price and functionality
I love this spinning wheel! It's easy to assemble and store. It's very sturdy and light weight. I can travel with it any where and it works like a charm! Very affordable for a high quality spinning wheel.

If you're thinking about spinning, this is the one for you.
Quite honestly, I'm delighted. I used a wood finishing/sealing oil on it before we assembled it, so that it matches my floor loom. Once the oil had dried, it took my husband (he assembled it, I handed him the parts and offered my complete silence in the interest of staying married.) less than an hour to assemble. The assembly instructions are somewhat difficult to follow, so we used a Youtube video. It works very well and is attractive even when not in use. I'm a beginning spinner and this wheel was the best choice I could have made. It's easy to use, just make sure you practice your treadling a lot before you use it, if you're a beginner. This was a really good option to further my weaving and knitting.

Outstanding Customer Service!!!
For starters, the customer service is amazing. My package was lost by UPS and Mike was fast to reply when I messaged about it, even calling the distribution center multiple times to helpbfind it. They sent me a replacement immediatly upon seeing the package was lost. The wheel itself is very nice and very much worth the price. I chose to do some wood burning on mine before staining and it went very well. Assembly is pretty straitforward and Ashford has a video on youtube with step by step instructions. This is my first wheel and my first time ever using one, so with only 24 hrs of use im pretty much a newb. I was able to spin some really fine singles on it as pictured. I might come back and update this review after i have finished a few projects.

My first wheel
I am new to spinning; this is my first spinning wheel. My considerations were first, cost, second, compactness (I have very little room in my house). Boy, did I luck out. First, there are several folks at Ashford who care a lot about the assembly process. The instructions are clear, well thought out, and straightforward. The manufacturing team took great care in the fit and placement - all the pilot holes are in the right place, all the assembly bolts are easy to get to, and everything just kind of falls together. After assembly, the wheel is pretty much bombproof - the joints are solid and seem determined to stay that way. The period of time between opening the box and having a spinning wheel sitting in my living room was an education in how a high-quality product, produced by high-quality folks, can be a true joy to put together. So how does it work? Well, I am teaching myself how to spin, so there is a learning curve. However, this learning curve is fairly short: it doesn't take very long to get the hang of treadling, drafting, and generally keeping track of all the mechanics of turning fiber into yarn. The more I use this wheel, the more fun I have. Oh.. if you are looking for a spinning wheel as decor for a 17th century farmhouse, keep looking. If you want a sturdy, fun wheel to make yarn, well, I expect to use mine for many years to come .I recommend it without reservation.

Great affordable wheel!
Excellent first wheel for myself. I sanded, stained and assembled it in 4-5 hours (had to wait for stain to dry). I was able to read and follow the assembly instructions without much trouble. It shipped very quickly from the seller (I paid the extra $13) and I got it the next day! It does squeek, and I haven't been able to make it stop despite lots of oiling. I think it's coming from the right treadle attachment when it used a plastic piece. I'll try Vaseline later. Back aches after a while, so I need to pay attention to posture and maybe think about a chair? But I attribute that to being a new spinster and not really knowing what I'm doing yet. Appreciated the sample wool from Ashford and generally love the wheel! Also love that it can fold! Edit 5/25/20: Be extra careful with lifting the wheel. I've broken the plastic rear bearing that the bobbin sits in. Thankfully the Woolery sells a replacement for $5+shipping. Still love the wheel and have made some pleasant yarns.

Love this wheel!
I did a lot of research before I purchased this wheel. It has larger bobbins that hold up to 5 ounces of yarn, it has the sliding eyelets instead of hooks on the flyer which is great for art yarns, two treadles for a lot of control, 3 spinning ratios and it's portable. It was easy to put it together and easy to use. One of the bobbins came damaged, but the seller replaced it free of charge. I also received it several days earlier than projected. I'm very happy with the wheel and the seller.
