Goes through basalt rock like stink!
I just drilled 30 holes, half of which were into solid basalt rock. In terms of time and effectiveness, I call it butter! The solid rock holes took about two minutes to go a foot deep or more, and some I didn't even bother with a pilot hole. The wear mark is still 100% and the bit end still looks new! Nice work Dewalt! T-Post Fencing is fun again!

Only made it 8 inches.
Made it 8 inches into a granite rock then the bit was trash. Junk. I have been using Milwaukee bits and get 6 holes about 16 inches deep out of a bit.

Will not buy again
Drilling a large granite boulder for Dexpan holes - lasted two holes, will not buy again.

Works great! Granite rock not a problem.
Was installing T-Posts and started hitting a lot of granite. This bit worked great drilling holes for my posts. I rented a rotary hammer drill from HD. Would definitely recommend a 1-1/4” bit instead of this for tposts. Was a little less resistance then I would like. Not this bits fault.

Excellent tool for the job
This drill bit was amazing. It drilled through 32” of fireplace brick as if it were butter. Expensive but time is money, you get what you pay for. Highly recommend
