Building the Chevy LS Engine HP1559: Rebuilding and Performance Modifications Kindle Edition

Part of the problem with this book is there are so many other books out there with the same material. So that makes it simple, if you're just doing a rebuild and you don't have any other books on the subject, buy this book, but if you don't have anything but a few articles off the web, this is your book.

This manual does not cover all LS Engines. If you are building GEN III LS LQ4 this will not cover all aspects needed. It also disregards ALL carburetor setups and ideal fuel system design to feed the beast after it is built. It does cover LS Family engine comparisons and good overall info on rebuilding a 6.0.

I'm an experienced engine builder, but new to the LS series engine. This is a well written, detailed book, with the right balance of practical and theoretical information. It gives you the information you need to assemble your LS engine without getting too far into the weeds. I recommend this book to anyone considering a rebuild or mods.

Great book if you're thinking about upgrading or building an LS2. Lot's of good reference material and detailed instructions. Well done!

You should have this book if you plan to do any LS engine work, another great book is "How to Rebuild GM LS-Series Engines (S-A)"

Mike Mavrigan is excellent in describing what, where, and how to make power. Clear descriptions that are worded for the novice and master tech alike. Great pictures and vast content. This is one of my go to manuals.

Too much specific info that applies only to cetain parts used. Can't be used as a direct stock replacement manual for LS engines, but will have most info you need. Also seems to drag out and repeat info multiple times on simple topics and then ski torque specs on something important. Buy it if wanting to duplicate some of his engine build or not sure if you want to get into rebuilding an engine for the first time.
