Staying power!
I’ve used these in updos for a couple weddings and other special occasions and they stay where I put them and don’t slide out like regular bobby-pins. It’s nice having the two different sizes. I used a few of each. My hair is fine and slick but there’s a lot of it. These hold my hair and blend with the color. I tried several different options, but these were the most impressive, hands down.

Holds a Bun ALL Day Long
I recently started volunteering at a local museum and I have to wear period appropriate attire, and wear my hair in a period appropriate way, which usually means up in a bun. I didn't want any shiny bobby pins, and I needed something that would stay secure. I recently did a double shift, and wore my hair up in a bun for over 12 hours. I didn't have a single pin slip, and had no pin pain. They are also easy to remove, with no snagging. I am very pleased with how these hair pins work and look (because you can't see them at all).

I’ve bought these 10 + times!
These pins work great for ballet buns. In the 11 years of dance my daughter has needed a new box each year just from normal wear and tear and losing them. Buy these along with new tights each year!

Nice French pins, I admit.
Part of me wanted to dislike these, because l felt they were overpriced for what they are, especially at around $15 USD for 20 pins…so that’s .75 PER pin. I could get other pins for about .02 each, so that feels outrageously expensive. However, I had difficulty finding French pins in the size I wanted that are similar to my hair color, which is sort of a golden-honey blonde. Gold and rose gold pins are still noticeable, but the “blonde” Frenchies are an excellent match, and disappear into my hair. If you are a platinum blonde or an ash blonde, they wouldn’t be a great match. These do also seem more comfortable than regular pins, because if they inadvertently touch your scalp, they are fuzzy instead of hard metal. If you have fine, straight hair, as I do, the flocking gives them a little more “grip,” and they are less prone to sliding out than metal pins.So I’m keeping them. And will probably order them again in the future when these inevitably break or get lost, but I’ll still grumble about the price.

Where have these been all my life?!
I have incredibly fine, thin, wavy hair that breaks easily due to medical issues. I like to put my hair up in buns, but most things either require my hair to be twisted really tight, cause breakage when I take them out, or are too heavy and fall out because my hair simply can't support them. These pins are absolutely amazing! Just one of the 3" pins holds even a loose librarian bun all day, is so light and comfortable that I forget it's there, and even held without pulling, deforming, or poking when I forgot to take it out before bed. The velvety flocking has better grip than the rubber or silicone coatings on other pins that I've tried and has a bit of resistance when I take the pins out of my hair but doesn't pull enough to cause breakage (but I do take care not to just yank them out). I took a star off for sturdiness because if you damage the flocked coating the rest peels off easily and the star off from value is because I only really use the 3" pins. The 2" pins would be great if I had thicker hair and needed to secure strays, but as it stands I don't really have any use for them. I wish I could get 20 count packs of just the 3" pins but the only options available at this time are 100 count packs or the variety pack with only 10 of the size that I actually use.

Great hair pins but velvet rubs off
These are great hair pins and I like that they come in 2" sizes (it's quite difficult to find small hair pins). They are also stiff, which I prefer over the flexible ones and they absolutely do stay in place (which is wonderful!). However, they are expensive and the velvet flocking only lasts two or three wears. This is great if you only do an updo once or twice, but I pin my hair up daily. Once the flocking wears off, I continue to use them, but they no longer have good staying power. So, I think the idea is great but they are priced too high for how long they last as "flocked" hairpins.

SO GOOD
My hair is fine and Bobby pins don’t usually hold for very long so whenever my hair is in an updo I’m constantly adjusting it. But these pins hold ALL DAY without any adjustments, are super comfortable, and just one or two pins can hold a bun with all my hair
