Smith and Wesson 642 Airweight aluminum frame stainless cylinder
If its for 642 airweight, buy it. You wont be disappointed. Just empty the cylinder of the rounds first, pull old grips off the firearm, leave the factory pin because it's a Centennial series, slide the Hogue Tamer grip on. Once seated nicely, the last part may be a bit tricky till you figure out the best way to hold it all together, but you will want to put the cap on with the indent to the bottom with a .38 shell against the bench and push it all together. It doesnt really click into place but youll feel it grab. Super easy to repeat the process once successful. First Hogue I've installed and super happy with the fit, engineering and even the price. Hogue Tamer takes a bit more real estate in my pocket holster but the balance is hugely met with the more comfortable and stable grip. Under 40 bucks with tax, prime delivery got it to me in 12 hours-ish. I wanna keep writing but i gotta go sit in my easy chair and twirl some revolvers.

As advertised, fits my 442 S&W nicely.
It's a must have upgrade on a 442 S&W (the grips it originally comes with are too small in my hand) but with these Hogue grips it's like night and day, feels so good in my hands now. I will say that you need to be careful when installing them, the first set I bought ripped slightly when installing, be very careful when installing the grips, once they are in place they are sturdy but they are easily damaged when installing them.

Yes, It Tames Recoil!!
60020, Installed on S&W 642-2. The OEM grips gave a two-finger hold, left backstrap exposed, and didn't come far enough up to cover the "hump" at top of grip--and that hump really smacked my palm, between thumb and index finger. This grip gives three-finger hold, covers the backstrap with rubber, AND goes all the way up to top edge of the frame hump, with an extra insert to absorb shock. It spreads and softens the felt recoil. Tula 130 FMJ (not listed as +P, but feels more like .357--a lot hotter than Remington .38 125 JHP +P), awful with OEM grip, is literally comfortable with this Hogue. Installation was not difficult. Read instructions and look for 'track' in grip, that the OEM cross pin travels in. On the 652-2, the original cross pin was used. For other models, Hogue provides a replacement to swap it out. There's also a plastic filler strip. I left it out, and grip fits solid with no looseness or wiggle. Pressing the plastic butt cap into position was easy, the instructions were good on that. I may end up shooting this little fella more, now that it's no longer a painful ordeal.

5 stars for fit and feel...4 stars for ease/difficulty of installation.
Maybe I'm just having a bad day, but I had a heck of a time getting these installed (and also removing the stock grip). I am female, so don't have as much strength in my hands, but it took me an hour to install these. I used all the correct tools, but it took me a good 20 minutes just to get the pin out of my old grips. Once it was out, I installed the new pin, which was pretty easy. Then I removed the "molars" inside the new grip and went about putting the new grip on. This is a bear. Make sure you follow the directions and use card stock or something to help slide the sides of the new grip over the body. It took me a lot of work and force to finally get them on all the way. Putting the end cap on wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be, as I was expecting it to be difficult. I used a chisel to pry it apart and installed it as far as I could. Then I used a block of wood, set it down on the end cap, and put all of my weight into it. It took a couple of tries, but it did eventually seat. There wasn't a "snap" sound, as others have said, but everything is seated nice and snug with no gaps, so I believe it's fully seated. All of this being said, the new grips are installed and they feel wonderful in my hand. I have smallish (not tiny) female hands and my gun now fits perfectly in my hand. I never liked the stock grip. It's slippery and it feels like there is nothing to hang on to. It puts your trigger finger too far into the trigger space, which forces you to pull left when firing. I haven't shot with the new grips yet, but I can already tell this is no longer going to be an issue. The grips feel substantial and solid and they put my trigger finger right where it is supposed to be, naturally. I can't wait to bring it to the range and try it out! The last time we were at the range, I got a large blister in the web of my hand between my thumb and index finger from the recoil. I can already tell that won't happen next time. 5 stars for fit and feel...4 stars because it was so difficult to install. The end result is a good, snug, fit and maybe it wouldn't have been so difficult on a different day.

Great grip and super value
A total gamechanger for S&W bodyguard. With stock grips +p 110 gr would tear the skin on my upper thumb. Very painful to shoot. This grip absorbed most of the recoil and made shooting 130 gr +p and 158 gr a thing of ease. Like having a different gun. Install was a breeze. The hardest part was knocking out the original pin. Would highly reccomend

Perfect Upgrade for the S&W Bodyguard 38
I always felt that the grip on the S&W Bodyguard 38 was too small. It's not long enough and the handle is quite narrow. It never felt very secure in my hand. Enter this Hogue Grip. I watched a few videos on youtube on how to install it. I had it installed in under 15 minutes. It was easy to do and makes a huge difference. Now the grip is wider and a bit longer so it fits comfortably in my hand. Highly recommend. A couple of installation tips: 1. Cut two rectangles from the plastic that the grip ships in and use those instead of business cards to slide between the frame and grip when you are sliding on the grip. 2. Use one of those 4 way screwdrivers, with the bit removed, to open up the end of the grip instead of using a shell casing as recommended in the directions. The screwdriver handle gives you plenty of leverage to open up the grip cap so it can easily pop on over the installed screw thing in the handle.

Awful
The item I received looked like it had already been opened and possibly assembled or returned. All of the plastic protective inserts had been removed, and the product was dented and scratched in several places. Overall, it arrived in very poor condition. More importantly, it simply would not work properly. It kept sliding down the handle and had to be continuously pushed back up to stay in place on a hammerless Smith & Wesson .38 Special—the exact firearm it was advertised as being made for. The fit and function were awful, and I was concerned that it could potentially create an unsafe situation. I’ve had good experiences ordering from them in the past, but unfortunately, this was by far the worst product I’ve received.
