The 679 does not have a night light. Does the 678 have a built in nightlight? Picture would help** A: No it does not. I bought this because it is listed in the amazon description as having one. I went to install it and found the amazon description was wrong. I did not find their error until I went to install it and had to return it two months later. They allowed the return but despite the error being on their part, they only issued a partial refund. It's been months since they were told and they still have the 7W nightlight feature listed. **Q: I am trying to replace the burned out light bulb but I can't get the light cover off. Is there a trick to that?** A: There is 2 tabs on the lens . Take a small screw driver and push in on 1 tab it should release the light cover. The tab is about 1 inch wide. They are straight across from each other. **Q: how do you remove motor and fan ?.** A: You remove the motor and fan from the room side of the device. Remove the light shade. Remove the light bulb. Being the light bulb is an acorn nut, remove it. Remove the light housing. Pry out the two tabs and remove the motor plate with the motor and fan. Replace the motor plate with a new one with new motor and fan included. Reassemble in reverse order. **Q: Can I run the fan & the light both on 1 switch? Im putting this in my cat's literbox closet & want it to run 24/7 & off a single switch.** A: Yes. Tie all whites together. Tie all grounds together. . Do the same on grounds pig tail to green terminal on switch. Take the black and and blue or might be red wire to light together with a pig tail. These are the hot wires to light and fan. Tie pig tale to brass screw on light switch spst. Black incoming hot wire goes to one brass screw on switch to light and fan The blue and black or red that you pig tailed to the fan and light goes to the other screw brass on switch. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quiet, Effective, and Aesthetic Fan for Bathroom Remodel *by C***R on February 4, 2025* We recently renovated our bathroom and swapped out the old, broken exhaust fan for this one, and it’s been a perfect upgrade! The sleek, modern design fits beautifully with our new bathroom aesthetic—clean and unobtrusive, just what we were looking for.The fan is super quiet, which was a huge bonus. It’s much quieter than our old one, yet it clears the moisture from the air quickly and effectively. Even after hot showers, the bathroom stays fresh and dry in no time. After 2 months of use, it appears durable. The size was exactly as advertised, which made it a perfect fit for our project. It was a breeze to install—everything lined up and worked smoothly, so no issues there.Overall, I’m really impressed with this fan. It’s quiet, efficient, easy to install, and the size was spot-on for our space. If you’re upgrading your bathroom exhaust, I’d highly recommend this one! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great option for the price. *by R***D on July 14, 2025* Easy installation and works well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Bathroom fan/light but… *by D***E on January 25, 2025* Nice fan/light, bright light and quiet. It was a little difficult to install the fan once the housing was installed in the opening. Had some issues putting the fan back in the housing and when it came time to install the grill for the light fixture, I was missing screws to attach it to the housing. For now the fan/light is in and is working as expected. ## Frequently Bought Together - Broan-NuTone 678 Ventilation Fan and Light Combo for Bathroom and Home, 100 Watts, 50 CFM,White - Hon&Guan Soffit Vents 4 Inch, Round Vent Cover Air Vent with Built-in a Fly Screen for Bathroom Exhaust Vent Office Home (ø100mm) - AC Infinity Flexible 4-Inch Aluminum Ducting, Heavy-Duty Four-Layer Protection, 25-Feet Long for Heating Cooling Ventilation and Exhaust --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.lk/products/994476-broan-nutone-678-ventilation-fan-and-light-combo-for-bathroom](https://www.desertcart.lk/products/994476-broan-nutone-678-ventilation-fan-and-light-combo-for-bathroom) --- *Product available on Desertcart Sri Lanka* *Store origin: LK* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
