This is great we bought it for our camper, work great. Took it on vacation and hooked it up in our cabin, again how great is that! Totally worth the price!

love it!
easy to set up and i definitely notice a big difference in the taste of my tap water. i did have to try each of the different attachments but as soon as i found the right one it was obvious. the water pressure is just as good as if i didn’t have this attached to my faucet. probably going to buy a second one for my mom!!

which compared to the price of cases of water is not too bad of a deal
It works as intended for me. If you're short on time skip to the last paragraph for a general, non-detailed review. Otherwise, I suggest reading the whole thing in order to get the full picture. The water in my area is ok enough to cook with, but drinking just cold tap can make my roomate and me feel kind of ill. The installation instructions are fairly clear and straightforward - I say fairly, more on that later- and while skeptical on whether or not I might regret the purchase or not, overall, I find that I do not for the time being. One particular product review I looked at prior to purchasing mentioned the switch that changes between filtered and non-filtered mode lasting about a year or so before snapping off and causing a headache. I have not gotten to that stage, at least not so far, but I would still reccomend having a jug or pitcher or something to fill up with the filtered water instead of repeatedly getting water from it for every little cup or bottle. This allows you to store that water in the fridge and not have to repeatedly flip the switch and risk first-hand experience of what that review spoke of. My critique, and why I cannot give 5 stars, is that, at least on my facuet, it can initially cause a large amount of water to leak from the facet's base during each use. I say initially because it does not leak quite as much as it used to after a reinstallation, though why it does not do that anymore ranges between the faucet "adjusting" to the filter or I managed to do a previously missed installation step not explicitly written in the directions during the reinstall. A pack fo 6 replacement filter cartrigdes, as of the date of this post, can be bought for roughly $40, and with 2 people in the household, the "change cartridge" light, which goes from green to yellow to red, started going yellow around January 17th, roughly 2 months after I first installed it with about a month and a half of usage. With that said, when they say that each cartridge lasts for 3 months, it is unlikely that they are taking into consideration much larger households - I am talking greater than 4 here - with twice if not more usage, where it is likely that they would be getting a red light around this time (unless the thing is rigged with an internal clock or something, but I doubt that). A single person might be able to get it to last a little longer than 3 months. Taking that into account, a household of 5 full adults/teenagers who drink plenty of water from home (IE, would be using the filter faucet as a primary source of water) would, from my experience so far, probably have to get a new cartridge every 1.5 months, meaning that a single 6 pack would last about 9 months, which compared to the price of cases of water is not too bad of a deal, especially around where I live. The leaking of water, if you pay for water and it is not included in rent, could be a balancing factor though depending on how much yours leaks. In conclusion, I would recommend this filter if your tap water is on its own unsafe or very questionable to drink and you do not mind some leaking of water during usage. A 6 pack cartridge can last 2 thirsty adults about 18 months, but 4 or more might have to get a new 6 pack every 9 months if not sooner depending on everyone's water usage. If at first there is a large amount of leaking, try reinstalling the filter; however, if the leaking does not reach a satisfactory amount (whether that be some or none) return the filter and try a different one. I hope I have been helpful in giving you all a decent idea on my experience with this filter, and that you are able to make a more informed decision than before!

Beware of re-packaged item
I received an open box from this seller. The adapters are placed in one continuous plastic bag which are labeled with their corresponding identifying letters. The first one was open and rolling around the packaging which was not the aqua colored box shown on the ad. I had just purchased this for myself and it was correctly packaged with all adapters sealed properly. Unfortunately, this was SUPPOSED to be a gift. I'm very disappointed. Though I know it's a good product, it wasn't able to be presented as a gift. Otherwise, great product.

Installs easily and works well, previously had water tested with the Pur filter and it passed without issue. Continue to use this daily.

DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT
I live in a small town in which the water is extremely bad and if not dangerous. More specifically, our water containers spores for a pathogen called Cryptosporidium. My first 3 month here were a nightmare as all of us were sick from the water including my two young dogs. I have professional training in water quality and did everything I could think of to abate the problem to no avail. Fortunately a relative from California (who also had gotten ill from the water) resolved the problem by bringing and installing a 3 stage Pur water filter unit, which is certified to filter out this water born pathogen. This was in 2008 and despite even a plumber being able to prevent a faucet leak from the Pur assembly, I gladly lived with a leaky faucet(which had to be replaced a year latter primarily due to weight of the unit. I was not delighted with the older (2004 design I believe) but it did get rid of the cypto spores and life w/o chronic intestinal flu like symptom went on...I religiously changed filters every month for almost three years. I had to buy three of the units, as practically after a year, the filter unit developed massive leaks making proper filtering impossible. The price of replacing them yearly was still acceptable.... Right before Thanksgiving, my last replacement died....I could not find any of the older models in the local stores and thought the picture of this unit looked like my old one. As I was having company for Thanksgiving, I ordered it immediately and paid a stiff premium to get 2 day delivery. When it arrived (along with company) I opened the box to discover the enclosed piece of junk with easy installation not requiring tools. Actually installation was very simple but PUR made this unit I guess because it wanted to go bankrupt. The older unit I had used religiously had a substantial threaded connector which attached to the faucet...it leaked but it stayed in place and did its job (for one year). This particular model comes with 4 plastic adapters which have 2 or 3 threads which you manually tighten to the bottom of your faucet. I did not want to install it but did not want to make my guests sick either, so I tried to use it and it lasted less than 2 weeks before springing a substantial leak which I could live with... However the PUR engineer who designed this piece of rubbish really did a job on this unit. About a half hour after a leak develop the entire 'mickey mouse' unit just collapsed into the sink. I spent over four hours trying to re-install without success and then contacted Amazon.com for a return. Realistically this properly installed unit was treated very gently and ONLY by me....lasted about two and half weeks. This design is insane. This newer unit not only weighs more than the older unit but its connection to your faucet is maintained solely by two or three threads on a plastic adapter which perhaps could hold the weight of unit without the cartridge PERHAPS but tend to doubt this and have no intent in experimenting. Fortunately because water quality is a serious issue for me, I had purchased a GE water filter unit as a backup. Not only is the design of the adapter crazy but when you turn on the black back unit to filter your water, it pivots the entire filtration system to a jerk and tilts it forward. This last stunt convinces me the design of the this model was not made for home use but for early - very early disposable of the unit. I also went out today and looked the newer Pur water filtration systems available and all of them have this easy install procedure and 'one click removal.' After my this experience, Pur could not get me to install their newer units using this design for a million dollars. As a former published toxicologist, I acknowledge that the separate Pur filter used in the system is of excellent qualitity and never received a bad filter....But a water filtration system needs more than an adequate filter but a way of reasonably attaching it to your faucet which is stable....This one is not. I am not a plumber....but did have a plumber install one of the older models(which worked but leaked at junction with faucet). I literally had to coerce my plumber to install the older unit which has now been discontinued and replaced with their ostensibly 'easy install - no tools units.' I strongly caution buyers not to rely on the nonsense Pur had gotten itself into. You may be able to install it and have it work fine for a day, week or couple of weeks but if the unit is like mine, you will sincerely regret purchasing their newer models featuring 'easy install' features. I have never commented or written a review of any product on amazon.com. But my horrible experience warranted me to share my views with other consumers. Before doing this I emailed PUR and pretty stated the above to them and informed them I would not post a review if I heard back from them(thinking perhaps the unit I had gotten might have been defective). Pur is yet to respond and I doubt will. As stated above the PUR FILTER unit (cartridge) is of excellent quality and is the only one certified to remove pathogenic spores from water. They deserve credit for the filter design but changing the design of the unit and going for a an easy install products is I believe a market manipulation PUR will regret....The older unit leaked but nothing for this price range is perfect but did work for a whole year(terms of warranty). If you do experience the same problems I did - please do not Ignore - return unit - contact PUR by email. The quality of water nationwide is pretty rotten and in small towns like mine actually dangerous. Considering all factors, I do not see that the situation will improve. PUR needs to re-engineer its faucet attachments and stop ripping off consumers. I VERY STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT BUY ANY PUR PRODUCT WHICH TOUTS AN EASY INSTALL(TOOLS FREE) SETUP as strongly believe you have the same problem I did. is simply not apropos for most kitchen faucets and anything

Pur Plus Vertical Water Filter
We have used Pur Plus Water Filter for years. We decided to replace it with the new stainless steel one. Love the fact that the black lever has a pause, so if you accidentally touch the lever, it waits until you actually turn the lever to filter the water, which our old white one did not do. Pur definitely improved this new model. Love the fact it is fresh running water filtered right out of the faucet, and not stagnant water sitting in a pitcher.

I've been using this filter for many years and it's simply great, no smell or taste to water and internal battery last for years. That's the only reason I had the buy a second one, battery died (4-5years later)
