Great upgraded grinder for the price that is A good stuffer too.
A little on my old Waring grinder first so I have something to compare.I bought the MG 100 ten years ago and it was my mainstay all those years, alway performed well even still.Great grinder for 10-20 lbs meat (mg100) but a bad stuffer unless you own particularly enthusiastic gorilla as an assistant who can use the pusher to push the already ground meat. Plenty of power to take meat cut in 6 inch strips almost as fast as I could cut them up and feed. I would often make patties because of the weak feeding to stuff skins, by yourself.Don't try the fine blade on with cut meat with fat, sinew and membrane on it, it wraps around the cutter and plugs up. Trimmed meat cut small or poultry breast chilled well might work just fine on first grind.Enough about the mg100 from which I upgrade to the mg855MG 855 has more grinding speed but not hugely noticeable over the inexpensive mg100. It also goes as fast as I can feed it as I cut. The big difference here is the 50% larger hopper and grinder diameter and a vortex design down in the tightly fitting auger cavity which will actually aids in pulling already ground meat with little effort and stuffing the sausage. Combined with a new stuffer blade it is One man effort=unemployed gorilla. Now with only a 10-15 pound job I don't need to use my verticle LEM sausage stuffer cylinder except for larger projects which is another amazing product I have commented on.Another improvement over the mg100 is the entire assembly when slid into the motor cavity is solid now not depending on just the tightening screw which was slipping a little with the old mg 100 after many years use.(but I still have it for a loaner)Overall both great products depending on what you can afford.

Heavy duty and pulls heavy duty
I'd researched about grinding my own meat for some time before buying this grinder. I wanted to grind my own hamburgers for my Memorial Day barbecue. This was more expensive than others that I looked at, but it came with a five year warranty which said to me that the company really believed in their product. So since I wanted to have a good grinding experience, I got this one instead of others. I gave it a test run last weekend with some beef and pork shoulder. I invited a few friends to give me critiques on the hamburgers that came out, and I only got glowing praises. When this grinder came the box was quite heavy which means a beefy (pun intended) product. And it grown through my meat without so much as a whimper or hesitation. To start I was a little ginger with it because I had read all of the reviews on how you should be careful with electronic grinders and them getting bound up. But after no time it didn't seem like the grinder was wanting to take a break so I pressed forward with adding more and more and more chunks of beef and pork. In no time I had quite the pile of ground beef and could go about turning them into patties.I think I am now hooked on grinding my own meat, which is good because based on what I ground and what I could get from the grocery store, this is a lot better.(No pink slime here)

It does a fine job! It got a bit "tired" three quarters ...
I use this grinder to grind cooked corn. It does a fine job! It got a bit "tired" three quarters of the way into the job but after a few seconds of rest, it kept going just fine. I don't know if the performance would be as good if the job was any harder. If I had to grind meat, I would go for a more substantial model.

Good grinder for the money
I am pretty happy with my new meat grinder.positives:1. when used correctly grinds very efficiently and reasonably quickly. I have gone through 20lbs of hamburger and 16 lbs of sausage so far. Keeping the meat very cold the machine operates quickly.2. Easy to use and assemble and very easy to take apart and clean.3. Attractive and shiney. You can't underestimate the power of shiney metal in a product for astetics!4. High review is because over all this grinder functions very well and efficiently. It does what I need a grinder to do without undo stress on my hands. The instructions were easy to follow.Criticism:1. The plastic piece used to push/feed meat into it is black plastic with a cap on it. The cap comes off so you can store plates and pieces inside. While this is great for storage I find it annoying to have the cap keep coming off under my hand when I am using the "pusher". I may have someone cut me a wooden piece to use for this purpose.2. Like most machines that are not crazy expensive not all of the metal pieces ARE stainless steel. This means that you must wash the blade piece and grinding plates and completely dry them immediatly. Then you coat everything with mineral oil to prevent rust. I wish I didn't have to be this careful. If the pieces do rust you can clean them with steel wool. I was, however, aware of this when I purchased the machine due to the product details.3. Again like most feedback I have seen on grinders this machine is very noisey. Since it needs to run a fair amount of time that can get annoying. This was, however, something I expected due to all the research on electric grinders. Some general advice for folks using this machine: Work clean and cold. Not only does putting your meat chunks into the freezer for 1-2 hours promote food safety but it makes a huge difference in the ease of feeding the meat through the grinder. When I let the meat warm I find the grinder does not like to quickly cut through the meat and the fat strands tend to get caught up in the blade more. However, very cold meat/fat feeds through very fast. Read the instructions through at least once (or more) and you will find a lot of tips about cleaning and operating the machine that work very well. It also helps to be sure you are assembling everything correctly.
