Great alternative
This key works perfectly. I had only one working key, so a dealer or locksmith had to program the key. I chose a locksmith. They charged 50 to program, 5 to cut the key and said "We can't guarantee this key will work. We do guarantee a key you buy from us." Their key costs 25, 10x more than this one. They cut and programmed my $25 key and it started the vehicle but they couldn't make the remote lock, unlock, alarm work. They explained "These Internet keys often come with bad batteries and some have faulty control boards." They replaced the battery but still couldn't program the remote features. I thanked them. When I got home I followed the instructions that came with the key to program the remote and it works like a charm, lock, unlock, alarm. I informed the locksmith how to program the remote so maybe they can help the next customer. I have a 2011 Ford F-250 XLT.

What a deal
What a deal . Key "fob" works with included programming instructions.Had the key cut at a local Ace Hardware store for $1.08 including tax. Already had 2 keys . One being worn down original . Found "key" programming video on youtube.com for 2015 Ford and it worked . I was very pleased. Ace Hardware wanted $100 just for plain chip Ford key programmed and cut.So beware :1) key fob programming is separate from just key programming .2) Ford keys have a chip in them . The key programming is different then the "fob" programming.

More Detailed Instructions
I was not able to get the fob programmed with the provided instructions. I got the following more detailed instructions from their technical support. This worked for me the first time.STANDARD REMOTE PROGRAMMINGPlease make sure to read through the programming before attempting. All remotes that are expected to work for the vehicle will need to be with you in the vehicle before attempting to program. Any remotes not present at the time of programming will cease to function until reprogrammed.1. Enter the vehicle, close, and unlock all doors using the power unlock switch on the driver’s door.2. Insert the key into the ignition.3. Within ten (10) seconds, switch the key as far to the ON position as it will go without starting; then back to OFF, perform this step eight (8) times ending in the ON position on the eighth (8th) time. Each cycle ON to OFF will count as one (1).If the door locks appear to be cycling after the fourth (4th) ON to OFF cycle, restart the procedure from STEP 1 and only turn the key four (4) times in this STEP, ending in the ON position the fourth (4th) time.At this point the vehicle door locks should automatically lock and unlock, indicating that the programming mode has been activated. If the door locks do not cycle automatically then the programming procedure has failed and you need to restart the procedure from STEP 1.4. Within seven (7) seconds, using any remote, (we recommend first programming original remotes if you have one) press and release the LOCK button. The vehicle doors will automatically lock and unlock indicating the new remote has been accepted.5. Repeat STEP 4 for all remaining remotes you wish to program (you can program up to four (4) remotes total).6. Once you have programmed all your remotes, exit the programming mode by turning the key off and removing it from the ignition.7. Test all remotes to ensure they are functioning. If any did not program, restart the programming procedure from STEP 1 and switch the order in which you are programming the remotes.------To program the key (not the fob) you'll need two existing keys that will start the truck. Start the vehicle with existing key #1, then turn it off. Immediately start the vehicle with existing key #2, then turn it off. Immediately insert the newly cut key and start the vehicle.

Flimsy casing falls apart, key stops working
I purchased three of these keys for a Ford F350. I was able to program them to work correctly. However, after 4 months of use two of the keys no longer work. Here is the list of problems that I have experienced:--The black plastic casing will pop apart just from the force of turning the key in the ignition. This exposes the circuit board which then falls out.--The casing will also pop apart if the key is in your pants pocket and you sit down.--It seems that the key is damaged after falling apart a number of times, and then the key will no longer be recognized by the vehicle. This means that if you don't have a spare key on you, you will be stranded. The key is affordable, and it can be programmed to work with an F350, but I highly recommend having a spare key hidden on your vehicle if you plan to purchase this item.

Key works OK,but...
This key programmed fine with the help of a YouTube video. The images of the buttons wore off within months of carrying it in my pocket. After less than one year, the buttons stopped working all together. The original key lasted 11 years. This one lasted less than one year. For the money (vs. buying one from the dealer), I guess it's OK. But I expected longer life.

Saved over $200 & ABLE to take MYKEY Off.
We bought a 2012 Ford Edge from auction. To find that the MYKEY was active on it, and came with only one key and it wasn’t the admin key. So we bought this key, had it cut at Lowe’s for $3. Then called around to the ford dealers until I found one that would cut me a deal on having it programmed for half the price, bc I already had it cut and programmed it myself to lock and unlock the doors from the instructions that came with the new key. I ended up finding a dealership that charged me $52 to program it and take the damn MYKEY function off. Very happy I took the chance!WARNING: the dealership did warn me there is 80% chance that after market keys not purchased by them may not work. And I would still have to pay them for programming the key whether it worked or not. Bc they have had some not work. But mine did and saved me well over $200!
