RAK Ceramics RAKSEAT016 Metropolitan Soft Close Toilet Seat - New Slimline Design

Purchased this seat to replace my original but now broken 2010 metropolitan toilet seat. Had to remove the toilet away from back panel in order to remove the original fixings, which was a bit of a pain but was updating the units anyway so it was required. Took about 20 mins to fit, looks alot nicer than the original one, more modern and sleeker looking. Yes it's expensive but worth it.

We were trying to find a replacement RAKSEAT 1003 but finding one was proving difficult so I contacted RAK direct to be told this was a new more modern design which would fit and indeed it does!

Perfect fit as replacement for original seat on RAK Metropolitan toilet. Different slimline design but looks better, is a lot neater though doesn’t feel quite as solid in construction. Recommend removing when cleaning the toilet bowl with chemicals as apparently vapours can harm the plastic even if bleach and cleaning products are not used on the seat itself. Learnt this the hard way after a previous replacement of the same model only lasted 4 years due to the surface becoming porous and mildew affecting the seat. If we are more careful with this one when cleaning I have no doubt it will last for many years.

Exact replacement, easy to install.

The shape is almost but not quite identical to the original 2010 model. Nobody will really notice the difference. It is easy to fit. You don't need to do anything other than undo the old fittings with an Allen key knock the old nylon plugs through and use the new ones. The soft close mechanism is better than the old model but there is a little sideways play which is difficult to prevent.
