70-195 Tile Underlayment Roll, 500 sq. ft., Brown

I’m a contractor and frequently use this to protect floors (not it’s intended purpose) during construction. It’s way cheaper than ram board and holds up way better than rosin paper, especially at wet times of year. Also great for its intended purpose. Unfortunately one of the two rolls from Amazon was crushed and mostly unusable. Box was fine so it did not appear to have occurred in shipping.

We used 7 rolls of this when laying the hardwood floor in our new home. All of the rolls were purchased from Amazon and came in good shape. Product is strudy and easy to layout. We used a staple gun to hold in place before laying flooring on top. Not messy at all and if left out in the garage for a few days any smell goes away.Been in our new house for 2 months now, have noticed no issues related to this product and our hardwood floors are doing great.

This is a pretty good product for the price. I used this under my 1/2" engineered hardwood I just installed. I didn't want to go for the extremely high dollar stuff and took a chance with this. The thicker, heavier duty stuff would obviously be softer under the floor, but I'm pleased with it and would use it again for sure.

Will be buying more. Easy to set. Great amount of thickness not to much or to little.

After debating for weeks about underpayment for hardwood floor I finally landed on Aquabar. This stuff is great for the price point. I let it air out for a few days before install and no odors. Easy to roll out and cut with a box cutter. I’ve walked on it with wet feet and it holds up (no ripping, tearing, wrinkling). This is perfect for hardwood floor install.

Several problems with this product and the seller offering it.1. Very thin2. Company shipping it only fulfilled 1/3 of the order but claims to have shipped whole order. Good thing UPS keeps track of package weight!!3. A hassle, but Amazon refunded.4. Be wary of 3rd party vendors. If it seems too good to be true.

If you're debating using rosin paper, tar paper, or felt under your wood floor, don't. Use this. I used under 700 sq ft of new pine floor as a vapor retarder. Extremely happy with it. It's thin, so don't expect it to mask any significant subfloor imperfections. Cuts easily with utility knife, but has enough tar between the paper layers that it will dull the blade. No detectable odor unless you get your nose right against a fresh cut (unlike conventional tar paper that has strong odor). Much more durable than rosin paper. You won't accidentally tear this stuff walking on it. Great product.
