Increase your love for Jesus overnight
I love this book. If you love the Lord, you will love this book, too. I cannot put it down. I have notes and writing all over the margins; it leaves me in awe of how much Jesus loves us. The Holy Wounds of Jesus are our refuge from this world. There is power in the Blood, in His Sweet, Holy Face, and in His Beautiful Wounds that He endured to save us. This is worth the read. The parallel to Saint Maria Faustina’s experience of Divine Mercy in Poland, nearly at the same time as Sister Marie Marthe’s in France, is incredible. If you enjoyed reading Saint Maria Faustina’s diary, I think that you will love this book, too. For reading about the Holy Face devotion, do not miss the book, “The Golden Arrow”. It is also so good!Another note: the translation of “Mystic of the Holy Wounds” is excellent. I know that there is additional, older translation available on Amazon, but it was unavailable at the time, so I purchased this one. I am grateful that I did. This translation has none of the issues complained about in the reviews of the other translation from French to English. It is an easy joy to read!!

Deep insight into how followers should follow.
I have read the books of Saint Faustina, Saint John Bosco and both of those had so much profound information and insight on how, as followers, we are supposed to live, act, and what is expected of us from God. I learned more about my faith from reading about the saints than I ever did from any other source. Why? Because it is God speaking through his saints so that we, today, can know what he wants from us. No cryptic messages, symbolic stories, nothing to solve, just direct messages to us.Sister Mary Martha Chambon's book is no different. It is another important, must have book imparting what we need to do directly to us through Sister Mary Martha Chambon. Many reviews here go into the books details so I won't repeat any of that here but what I will repeat is that,I learned more about what is expected of me and my faith as a follower by reading this book (and others on the saints) then I ever did from any other source. The books on the saints are the best, most direct way to understand who and what we need to be in out faith, in my experience at least. This book is a must have.

Thorough explanation of Holy Wounds devotion
The prayer to the Holy Wounds Jesus revealed to Sr. Mary Martha Chambon (1841-1907) goes as follows:V: “Eternal Father, I offer You the Wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ to heal the wounds of our souls.”R: “My Jesus, pardon and mercy, through the merits of Thy Holy Wounds.”When I have a chance during the three o’clock hour, I like to try to say the prayer in the form of a Rosary after the Divine Mercy Chaplet. By “in the form of a Rosary” I mean the verse once followed by the response ten times. So in total I try to say the verse five times and the response fifty times. It doesn’t take long. The prayer is slightly similar to the Divine Mercy Chaplet and seems a fitting twin/companion devotion. I read in a small blue Pieta prayerbook years ago, that Jesus told Sr. Mary Martha that for every word of the Holy Wounds prayer we prayed, He would let a drop of his Precious Blood fall on a poor sinner. Here of some of Jesus’ words to Sister Mary Martha in the book:“There will be no death for the soul who expires in My Wounds, they give true life.”(54)“The sinner who says the .. prayer will obtain conversion”(54).“My daughter, each time that you offer My Father the merits of My Divine Wounds, you gain an immense fortune.”(52)“A single drop (of My Precious Blood) suffices to purify the earth ... [K]now its value!”(52)“Do as the butterfly - fly here into My Heart! ... It is in My Heart that one finds peace.”(60)I also like this quote from the 1928 “Dedication” by Archbishop Castellan of Chambery:“[L]ove ... more powerfully than the nails, bound Our Lord to the Cross.” (xii)And:“[D]oes not true love blossom in sacrifice and in reparation?”(59)

Beautiful story of a Saint
She was so humble and naive- the perfect child. Through her innocence, she allowed God to sacrifice herself for our cause. She chose pain to triumph our souls.
