This stuff is a life saver for people that are not very responsive to SSRIs. I use it daily and take it at night since it is tryptophan after all. Helps encourage sleep no doubt and only has a mild grogginess of you take it too late and wake up too early. Mild stomach upset if on empty tummy so I suggest taking w a cracker or two. Otherwise I highly recommend for anyone struggling w mood imbalances or even after a weekend vacation of partying just to have as a stabilizer.This has replaced pharmaceutical need for me thank goodness. But please always talk to a doctor first before trying to replace any medications as it can be dangerous to just stop meds but know this can also be coupled w meds, w dr approval, to help assist a prescriptions intent. ***Never just stop any prescription based on a randoms review!*** Lol.

Exactly what I was looking for. If you have a sensitive stomach I will say, I usually never have problems. But these give me a slight tummy ache for about 30min. If you have a sensitive stomach these might not be for you.

I probably suffer from stiff neck muscles due to possibly undiagnosed fibromyalgia which I have actually been carrying around for about 20 years. About 3 years ago I discovered 5HTP and I must say that it saved me from this crippling problem. My advice is to start with the 200mg capsules, since initially, for the first 10 days, taking 5HTP can cause nausea and dizziness. Don't give up, I simply opened the capsule and took half in a glass of water, and gradually increased the dose.You will have to find the right dose because the same amount may not work the same for everyone.

I originally bought this for appetite suppression but it didn't work for that. I'm in perimenopause and have had trouble staying asleep for at least 1 year.I remembered that I had these supplements and started taking them at night. It's only been a few days but I'm sleeping so much better. And when I sleep well, I don't have a crazy appetite like I do without enough sleep.

I have been using 5-HTP and Gaba for a couple years now to treat muscle cramps. It's worked amazingly well. Until I just changed to your brand of 5-HTP. Your brand is more milligrams than I was using and it's like I'm taking nothing because the muscle cramps are back in full force. I just ordered my old brand. I seriously question if there is actually 5-HTP in your brand.I got my old brand I was using before and my muscle cramps went away within a couple hours after I took it.

Most people need a lower dose than this. I was wondering why i was was experiencing nausea and having nightmares. Now I know that this dose is 4 times what is typically needed. Here i am at 1:30 am writing this review. You need certain nutrients to absorb this such as b vitamins and folate, so if you aren't deficient in those things then I see no reason why you would use this high of a dosage.
