Pricey and Dicey but amazing product
Noga makes the best bases--period. Most likely you're wondering if you should buy this little expensive guy, or just grab that cheap chinesium knock off for half or a third of the price... I contemplated that too... Go with the noga. Expensive but it will last you a life time. The magnetic strength exceeds the cheap competitors and the quality is better. The last thing you want is busting your expensive indicator to pieces when your chinesium indiactor base slips and falls to the floor.I originally wanted the large Noga but this mini one was the only one in my budget. Its small but i think for "regular" size machine work, it has enough reach. Worse case ontario you jog the table or axis closer to the work.I have not used this yet, other than messing around with it, but i know it's going to simply work when I need it.Only complaint is the price. These things are expensive for a magnet and an articulating arm, but just my opinion.Get it!

I should have bought this to begin with
I finally got sick of my cheapo indicator holder and bought the Noga in a fit of rage. I know firsthand now why machinists love Noga. I can confirm that it lives up to the hype - it's pricey, but worth every penny.I wasn't paying that much attention to dimensions when I ordered it, so I was surprised by how small the mag base is. Despite its size, the Noga mag base is easily as strong as my cheapo mag base, and actually suits me better. It fits great in tight spaces. I'm using this to indicate work on a Sherline lathe, where pretty much the whole lathe qualifies as "tight spaces." This indicator holder is ideally suited to the Sherline - you can actually stick the base directly to the lathe bed, in between the ways, to take a measurement without fear of scratching anything important. In short, don't be like me. Don't waste your money on a cheap holder and then end up buying a good one anyway. Get a Noga; you can't go wrong.

Works good for price.
This mag base works pretty good. Love how quick and easy it is to adjust the arm. Wish the magnet was a little stronger but it is also half the size of normal mag bases.

Works well in Precision CNC application
Review after some 4 months of near daily use, between both manual lathes (Hardinge) and CNC lathes (HAAS/Nakamura-Tome). Magnet is strong, the switch for the magnet loosened up significantly after about a week of sometimes switching it on/off every 30 minutes for a days work, however it has been consistent since with no noticeable degradation of the magnet strength. Seems fine getting soaked in coolant and left to air dry, adhesive for the silver NOGA sticker on the front is loosening because of the coolant I assume. The plastic knob for adjustments is great to handle. Compared to a $30 clone that my coworker had initially lent me, its fantastic. Length of arms is enough for most applications. I had concerns that the base might have been too big to mount on uneven/rounded surfaces of the machines but its a non-issue. On one operation an indicator holder was slipping during getting the part within 0.0001" TIR, so I swapped that out for this NOGA and the magnetic base solved that headache for me and likely saved about 5 minutes per part. I'm considering getting another to put a tenths indicator on so I dont have to keep swapping indicators around on this one NOGA mount. Adjustment knobs are also nice. So little issues with it, I only thought to write this review when a coworker asked which model I got so that he could look at getting this model himself. "NF61003" model.

Expected more
I haven't used the base yet but considering it's Noga I'm sure it'll be do well. Feels as sturdy as the larger model. The reason for four stars is the condition of the box. I placed my order on the 4th and was supposed to receive it on the 9th. Something happened that caused a delay of a few extra days, was supposed to arrive on the 12th. No big deal. Finally, on the 14th, I received the package. Despite being packaged in a bubble wrapped envelope there is fairly significant damage to the box. The base itself looks good and I'm happy to have another Noga product for work.

Great Test Indicator Mount
Great product! Solid holding power and easy to work fine adjustment. I should have bought one a long time ago!

Godsend to machinists.
If you're a machinist, you probably already know that these things are incredible. While the old school holders (two sliding rods) work, they are awkward to use and hard to get exactly where you need them to be, comparatively speaking. These Noga's will articulate in every way possible, and when you tighten the knob, it's like flipping a switch; The limp noodle turns to a solid rock. The time you will save and the ease of use is worth a lot more than what these cost (at least to me). The magnetic base is also plenty strong. While this is one of the smaller versions (perfect for smaller setups, or where you don't need a long reach), all of the nogas are essentially the same - absolutely awesome tools. If you do any kind of machine work, and you don't already have one, you're missing out.

Base attachment broke
I'm bummed. I've used these for years working at different shops doing setups. I got tired of sharing the shop ones so I finally bought my own. Only lasted a year and the base bolt snapped. I only use it to Indicate parts. Sad day, disappointed.
