Easy to set and it works.
Pretty good. Nothing beats a proper trap. Dont mess with sonar deterrents or poison pellets. THIS WORKS. Pro Tip: I had success with putting the trap at night when theyre in their lair. Caught both by after noon.

1st mole in 4 Hours of delivery!!! WOOHOO
This worked! I have tried for 2 months to poison, gas and trap these stupid things popping up around my yard and ruining the new sod but gave up until they started to push up dirt from under my foundation (1 year old house). WAR DECLARED, but nothing worked. The poison didn't seem to slow anything down. I bought expensive scissor traps but these are not "mole runs" making trails up in the turf so they didn't work. I put a gas bomb in there one day and the next day it was pushed up into the lawn, LOL. I felt like Bill freaking Murray. My wife was laughing at my frustration. I put dog poop in the holes, peed in them but everyday for a week a new mound under my house was there. These are just mounds of dirt with a hole going down to the side so I purchased this lasso trap and it was delivered on Sunday (thank you USPS and Amazon). I set the trap and within 4 hours got my first mole. There has been no new activity so now I will just sit back and wait for others to come.It was not hard to set up and use. I just followed the directions that came with them. I did pull the "plastic/rubber" off the trap side but was not sure if I was supposed to so I hope they update that in the instructions. I left it on the parts that I would handle though. VERY HAPPY with this and wish I could cancel the other traps I have coming since I ordered a few different ones the same day. Don't hesitate if you are on the fence.UPDATE 3 Jan 2019: Two other mounds started to pop up yesterday in different spots. I put out both traps at noon and by 6pm had caught my 2nd mole. Then today I got the 3rd mole in the other hole. So far these have worked 3 for 3 and I suspect I will continue to have success. THESE ARE AWESOME.

They work good.
The media could not be loaded. Caught about 30 gophers and a couple moles. Moles are hard to catch. Flooding and whacking the moles works best. These traps are great because you can see at a distance if they are triggered. I always set up a small landscape flag to not lose my traps on 2 acres. Easy to empty.

Excellent trap when used correctly (I’ll tell you how)
These traps are best I’ve ever used and are totally effective when used correctly. We eradicated about 20 gophers in three weekends using them in the past month. Prior to this I used pellets (sort of worked in reducing activity, but you can’t know if it works) and another smaller spring trap that was useless. My technique is to dig where you see activity and find the tunnel. Then take a small hand shovel and widen the hole the length of the trap so the activated trap can go deep inside such that you only see the plate and not the trap part or the circle that the gophers push to spring the trap. It’s crucial to put it deep inside, use the hand shovel again if it’s not big enough to do so. Sometimes I’ll put the trap in and then turn it to one side or the other, whichever works best. Experiment with the best way to place it so you can’t see it anymore. You want the trigger to be far enough in so they can’t shove dirt out to close the opening and avoid the trigger. Ensure the circle isn’t touching the sides of the tunnel which might make it hard to set off (the part that traps them can touch). Set the trap so it’s easy to spring, so have the final pin against the metal barrier on the trap and then push the U shaped part attached to the circle towards the trap end just enough so that the gopher barely touching the circle will set it off. Do not cover the hole. Gophers want to come and close up their vulnerable opening so it’s best you leave it open to light. Leave for an hour or two and come back and check it. I then release the dead gopher and leave it in the tunnel and fill the dirt back in.Highly recommend. After I had such good success I bought two more and as of today I have no gopher activity at all in a 1/2 acre grassy area.

Faulty trap and design
First of all one of the traps rusted right away and was not supposed to because it is galvanized. I've used cinch traps before successfully but this one is faulty. The bar that gets triggered with gopher activity is made too short and so it is triggered by putting it in a hole. I would never buy these again and regret not using them right away so I could return them in the return window. Do not buy this design!

Larger than expected and takes muscle and hand strength
I bought for California pocket gophers. At first I bought the large which were huge, more for a squirrel. Sadly the small doesn’t fit very easily in the holes. I had to really dig them out so the end piece fits and the large square end piece doesn’t allow it to push in the hole very deeply. I haven’t caught anything in several weeks of use. Also, the spring bar takes some strength to hold down while you maneuver the other little bars. I can barely do it but I’m a older female.
