Low dose iron supplement was what I was looking for. Hard to find 5mg.

Seniors have a smaller requirement for iron and I usually buy regular vitamins that have a 2 capsule dose and then I only take one to limit how much iron I get, but recently my preferred vitamins were out of stock and the only similar type available was a senior version that had no iron at all. I do better when I take some iron, so I have been using these little 5 mg iron pills for several months now, they provide a conveniently small amount (I normally take two, when I only took one I was wearing out in the middle of my normal walk, though probably were several factors involved).

Easy on my stomach

I'm very thin, weighing 90 pounds. I have always shunned mega-vitamins, having read decades ago that overdoses of supplements are far worse than insufficiencies.I take one in the morning at night. I'm glad to find a rare supplement that doesn't boost glut.

I needed to increase my hemocrit a little in order to be able to continue to donate platelets. Too much iron can have negative side effects. This has been the perfect dose to bump me readings up a little without upsetting my system.

Iron

I am sensitive, can only take smaller amounts of supplements, and this is working really well for raising my low iron levels. I started with taking just 2 a week for a couple weeks; then moved to 3x a week; then every other day.

Most iron pills have too much iron. As other iron supplement commentators have noted, this is a good lower dose. I have no idea if it works, but I like the idea that I have enough iron in case my iron needs increase unexpectedly.
