The template that is in the back of the manual is 138mm x 73mm. Roughly 5.5 inches wide x 3 inches tall. Use the template when Marking the cut as the rounded edges and precise measurements ensure a perfect fit.

Q: Is this radio nmea 2000 compatible?

unfortunately No, not the GX1800 looks like it lacks the internal programming - the GX1850 is NMEA 2000 per page 79 of the owners manual.

Q: I know this is for marine applications but is it lawful fpr use on a motorcycle?

If memory serves me, it's legal to operate as a land station who's purpose is to communicate with marine stations. License was required at one time. No reason that couldn't be on a motorcycle, i.e. you're following a ship on the motorcycle and communicating.
