Q: Can you mount this switch in a rack?

These answers are for the 8, 16 or 24 port switches. The 8 and 16 port switches do not have the ability to have rack ears, but you can place them on a relatively inexpensive rack shelf (you don't need a deep one). The 24 port switch comes with rack ears.

Q: Can i plug in a non-poe device to one of the poe ports?

According to forums online. Yes, PoE will only send power if it requested by the device. Otherwise the switch just interacts with it as if it were a regular switch.

Q: Does it have a fan? If yes, can you hear it in a quiet office?

This is a long shot but does anyone know what kind of fan is in the the LGS124P, 24 port, POE switch? I would like to replace it with a higher quality and more quiet one if possible. Thanks out there.
