A Must Have!!!
Wondering if this is a smart buy for an average sewer, I purchased this some reserve whether this is a good buy for me. We make our own skirts and dresses and this is a wonderful product. It takes turns easily and very simple to handle. I can cut out a skirt well within five minutes and I was going slow. This product is a wonderful addition and I don't know why all my friends don't have one yet. I am sure it's the new got to have Christmas gift for all my sewing friends who don't have a lot of time and need to get things done correctly. This electric rotator cutter is so much easier than scissors and the cut quality for surpasses anything else out there. I'm a busy homeschool momma and I need things to work correctly, efficiently and quickly. The Realable Rotary Cutter is that item and now I'm excited again about designing and being creative with sewing.A side note: It is very arthritis friendly, it does take much strength to use this. It has rollers on the bottom and it really does help the cutter to move.

Greatest thing since bubble gum!
When I opened the Amazon box and lifted the machine out (make no mistake this is a machine) I was concerned about how heavy it was until I remembered you don't lift it while operating it. I make square dance dresses sometimes with yards and yards of ruffles. This whipped thru 8 layers of good cotton/poly or blends of rayon/poly with ease. It looks bulky and weighs about 6 lbs, but with the rollers on the bottom plate it is very easy to control on curves and straight cuts resulting in neat and accurate cuts. The size and weight are NOT a problem. This is worth the price and it comes with a complete assessory pack. This is perfect for the casual sewer or crafter too. Saves time plus eases the wear and tear on your hands. I paid full price for this and if I didn't like it, I would tell you without hesitation.

Love this cutter
Love this cutter. The guard could be better designed but my husband solved my problem for me. I use a handheld squeegee to hold the fabric to keep my fingers out of the way. Works like a charm.Vibration loosens some of the part, so it is good to keep an eye on these and just tighten as needed. I’m impressed with its cutting and the sharpness. I cut 1 inch strips to make rag rugs. I can zip through the fabric now..

Not remotely worth the price premium
This cutter is powerful and will go through almost anything you throw at it. However the build quality is sad for the price.First and worst of all, it eats brushes like nothing I've ever seen. It's like the brushes are being held on a belt sander. The attached photo, with utterly destroyed brushes, have about an hour of use on them. Not a big surprise since you can see an impressive firework show inside the vents whenever it is turned on.Second, little things like the front blade guard are just flimsy cheap plastic that rides on a groove. The first time you bump it on anything it will break off. Without it you have a very large exposed blade just begging to eat a finger.Third, it just feels cheap. The motor casing is a very heavy cast iron piece. But then the handle is a thin and flimsy piece of hollow plastic that clamps around it and flexes like it's about to snap. Though it has not broken it has a poor feel.Lastly the base needs to be thin since it is under your fabric. However it rolls around on dinky little wheels (brass rollers on a pin axle) that never quit sit flat so it rocks. The vertical metal piece that connects it all lacks the rigidity it should have to support the heavy cast motor housing so it always flexes a bit too.In short you're paying a premium for the "domestic" brand name but getting the same Chinese made junk available for 1/3 of the price. It feels like this was a quality brand at one point but then some executive decided he needed a bigger mansion so it all got exported to China and cheapened to maximize profits. But hey if we keep the super heavy cast iron motor housing maybe no one will notice the every other part is junk?

This product is a game changer!
This tool is an absolute game changer. I can't believe I waited this long to purchase one. It's easy to use, not very loud, and can cut through 14 layers of sequin fabric like butter. I highly, highly recommend this product if you do any type of fabric cutting...single layers to stack cutting, this tool will take the hassle out of the cutting. It is so easy to cut out patterns, too. Say good bye to jagged edges, this tool does all the hard work for you. Just a word of warning...that is one sharp blade. Always use with caution and be sure to keep the safety covering the blade at all times, even when doing the routine maintenance on it like adding lubricant or changing out the sharpening piece (which I might add, is all included with the tool. It comes with all the goodies you need to keep it running nice and smooth including a 2nd replacement blade). This product is a must have. Don't hesitate, just buy it. You will absolutely love it!!

Cuts everything cleanly and quickly.
Without going into too much detail, I purchased this for my wife. She had actually asked for on that was hand held. But after doing some research, I settled on this one instead. She loves it. Right after she got this, a friend of ours volunteered to make EIGHTY SETS of blackout drapes for a Scouting camp. My wife volunteered to help her. She took this and cut all of the drapes .. 80 sets .. cutting multiple layers each time .. in just over 30 minutes. She was giddy. It easily cuts angles and curves .. she loves it. Nice clean cuts every time. One slight negative is the obvious safety issues with this thing (use it responsibly and don't daydream or get distracted while using it). The other slight negative is it's a bit loud. If it's going to be used for any length of time, I recommend using some light hearing protection .. no different from using any other power tool for any length of time. Overall, my wife loves it and HIGHLY recommends it.
