This book has become essential in my library. The information & writing is incredibly inspiring and as the first ancient translation that I've read, it is incredible to understand that the ancients were just like us. On a more surface-level note, I love this publisher's style of the sleeve and they look really well together on a shelf with other works. 10/10

First off, if you're reading this, but have never read the book, stop wasting your time, order it now, then come back to my review once that's done.This is a wonderful translation, it has a nice introduction to the man himself and the quality of the binding is solid for a book that costs less than a tenner!There is also something very sexy about a black font on a black cover, although in fairness all of the books I have ordered from the series are the same.Meditations itself was a journal never meant to see the light of day. It is made up of the musings of the last great Roman Emperor, and the last great Stoic Philosopher. Once you read this book, you'll understand why he was considered both. A truly wise man.

I would recommend everyone and anyone I meet to read this book.It is a necessity

I first read this when I was a philosophy student back in the early 00’s. Revisited last year when going through a bad patch and it’s impact has not diminished. Life changing, if you let it sink in.This version is a little neater in translation than some of the others I’ve read, very clear and with interesting notes. This edition is also beautifully designed, with a handsome modern look. This would make an ideal gift, especially for someone going through a tough time.

If you are not overly Christian, this is your bible. Read it until the pages go transparent with the grease from your fingers.
