Q: Can i still use the camera as a dash cam or is the lens obscured by the holder?

I think that depends on the phone, i have a samsung note 9 and i can fix it so that the camera is not obscured but i don't know about smaller phones.

Q: Do you have to take the phone out of its case?

Yes I do as it would be a bit bulky. Still can have it charging in holder. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and its heavy tried many and it falls of but this holder keeps it secure.

Q: Satnav is plugged in the rear will it fit

I have a land rover. Needed longer lead to fit phone plugged in.
