I love this ink
Noodler's inks are great. Like all noodler's products, it has a smell. It's not overpowering, though. The bottle is completely full, so be sure to sit it flat on the table when you're opening it. Don't believe me? Fool around and find out. On your shoes, or on your clothes, or on your carpet, but definitely on your hands. Now to the highlights.1) This ink is only very slightly darker than Diamine oxblood. If you're expecting a black with hints of red around the edges, that's not what this is. It does look amazing coming out of a dragon-shaped fountain pen, though.2) Dark enough to be professional, but fun enough to still appear as though you're writing with the blood of your enemies. Make that joke around the office, I dare you. 😉3) Flows smoothly in every pen I've tried it in, regardless of brand. Only feathers on the cheapest of papers, and I'm talking the stuff you get at the dollar tree, or on the envelopes you get with your rental statements from the landlord.4) They want to make sure they give you your money's worth. I've said it before, but it bears repeating. THE BOTTLE IS FULL! There isn't even room for the holy spirit between the lid and the ink, so sit it down on a flat and level surface when you open it. Put your pen in very slowly and with great care when you do the first few fills. Don't have any toddlers or excitable pets in the room when you do it, either. You won't get it off of your shoes or the carpet if you open it for the first time and haven't followed these instructions. Feel free to ask me how I know. Just don't. Don't move any more than you have to. Don't even breathe. In summary, this is really good ink. It smells a little bit, but not even close to as rotten as the smell of a noodler's pen, so you should be good. It flows smoothly and doesn't have feathering problems. Great, rich color. It's in my top three favorite inks.

Noddler's Ink BEST STUFF OUT THERE
Love all the Noodler's Inks. Use them mostly for dip pens. This color is so awesome. Almost like dark "blood" color. Flow is fantastic right out the bottle. They never skimp on the ink -- always filled right to the brim (be careful not to spill them when you open it!). Like most of the other Noodler's inks it does have a long dry time so you must keep that in mind for smearing and smudging when writing. Have a dozen or so Noodler's inks and would definitely recommend them if you're on the fence about trying them. Best bang for your buck.

Noodler's Ink Red Black...a little too red
I valued a web site that turned me onto this color found- basically this was his favorite while illustrating ink along with the Noodler's- Rome. So being anxious to try something new other than just a black to draw and illustrate with I thought I'd try this Red/Black in a pen. It really turns out as I see it... a bit red. I have mixed in some additional black ink in a small jar....It's coming around and has less red in nature...leaning on the brown side. Not really feeling happy with the results yet. Then that's me...I love browns to illustrate figures and country scenes. In the long run it isn't one that I'm happy with. I've given this Red/Black from the Noodler Nation a 4 star and might have even cursored it to a 3 star. Still experimenting to deepen the obvious red.

This is a cool color
I actually bought this because I wanted to use it for edit work but it is really too dark, it still may happen but It is dark enough to use as a every day ink. I looked it up on qualities on the Goulet pen company site and it lists this as being partially bulletproof and fully forge resistant as well as partially water resistant. which means it passes my criteria for being an everyday pen ink. it is a beautifully rich dark almost black red. it almost looks brown to my eye in some lighting but it has a tremendous depth to it. highly recommend

GREAT PRODUCT! SHAKE THE BOTTLE B4 FILLING CARTRIDGE.
Great! Exactly as shown. SHAKE THE BOTTLE BEFORE USE. Unless u want a brighter red; see the picture of the difference it made. Same ink but prior to shaking the bottle the ink seemed to be more water soluble and brighter. After shaking ink became a true red black and less water soluble.

Good color and fast drying
The color is what drew me in. It is a solid color matching exactly as it says a red black.I am writing using a fine nib pen and have had no problems with the flow of this ink. Even using a fine nib I am able to get some of the nice nuances of the shading. It writes smoothly and dries very quickly. I have written with this on everything from Moleskin notebooks to post-its and have had no problems with bleeding through or smudging. What I like about this color the most is that it is formal enough to be used at work for me and also unique enough that I still give off some personality.

Love it
Deserves all 5 stars. I’m fairly new to fountain pen inks and only have around 3 right now, but this is EASILY MY FAVORITE. As you can see in the image the color variants is great, when not shaken it gives a beautiful and perfect red, and when shaken it gives its intended look of a dark red/black mix. It flows beautifully. MY only downside to this is the fact i got it for my opus 88 demonstrator and it looks more black than red when looking at it inside the barrel.Don’t take my example in the image of how well it flows, its missing a few strokes because it was written on an index card.

Red Black Noodler’s Ink is not waterproof—but lovely
I love the color. I will use it in art journaling, so knowing it is not waterproof is important to me. It writes very dark and waterbrush pulls out a lovely muted red. The lines under washed areas remain quite crisp despite the bleed. This ink is a mix of “bulletproof and non-bulletproof dyes”. JetPen website has a good article about the Noodler’s Ink line.
