A MUST FOR SPAYING!
My then 3 month old adopted pup needed to be spayed before I could officially adopt her. I hadn't had a young puppy for so long that I was unaware there was an alternative to the "killer cone". How excited I was to learn that this bodysuit was recommended to me by the rescue as an alternative, and was told that the coverage is perfect for female pups being spayed because the softness durability of the material is excellent for this exact purpose. The leg holes allow female dogs to still do their business, without messing on the fabric and making it necessary to wash it daily. The breathability of the fabric allows your pup to not overheat. The surgery site kept clean and dry, even though I have a high energy breed puppy. The closure are snaps along the back of the pup are extremely high quality and even though I was advised to order a size that fit "snuggly" for the purpose of keeping the area of the surgery clean, the snaps held! At 3-4 months old pups grow very fast, and within the two weeks that I had my pup in the bodysuit, she started to stretch it out. Aside from her already outgrowing the suit, it looks brand new - so the quality is great. But I consider the minimal amount this product cost, to be very much worth the money. In fact, I'll be passing the suit along to the rescue for other incoming pups, so their new parents can enjoy a quick and easy healing process like we did. It would be an amazing idea to consider selling bulk to rescues at a discount though, as many rescuers pay out of pocket or rely on donations. Thank you for the innovative product.

Makes life much easier for both you and your dog after surgery ...
After multiple litters, our rescued 24 lb Beagle was going in to be spayed. The vet provided an e-collar/cone after surgery. However, because Beagles are notorious for rejecting cones, she strongly suggested we get a recovery suit.Amazon delivered the suit the day before she went in for surgery. After bringing her home, it took us a few minutes to figure out which side was which and how to fit it on her. The material is a bit stretchy which helps and the large size fit her very well. She didn't seem to have any problems with her bathroom breaks and while she occasionally sniffed around the incision, she didn't try to lick or bite at it. It was easy to un-snap and re-snap the suit to check her incision for the first few days. After that, the incision was healing nicely and the sedatives kept her and her "sister" Vizsla from doing their typical hurdles over the furniture. We only needed it for about 10 - 14 days but it was well worth the cost since it avoided a frustrated dog and an even more frustrated family. From a cost/benefit standpoint, recovery suits deliver very good value and this item delivers good quality and does the job nicely.

Works well but sizing is odd
I have a Pyrenees/Husky mix puppy (9 months) who was recently spay and I needed something other than the cone or donut. This worked quite well for the 2 weeks needed.Due to her size, I ordered the 3XL and the length and leg holes fit perfectly, however there was quite a bit of excess around her abdomen. Fortunately this did not seem to bother her and she did not squirm much when removing or putting on. That last part was VERY helpful because as another review mentioned - there are a TON of snaps and while it may take a minute to snap every single one on the 3XL, I do like how secure that seemed to make the garment. The best part was that she was able to do all of her business without me having to remove any piece of it!The material felt lightweight, but I could tell on 60+ degree weather days she did not enjoy being outside much but due to her breed, she already has a double coat to start.Overall I am pleased with my purchase, only removed a star due to fit and my mixed feelings about the snaps. I do recommend buying more than one if you can so you have one for them to wear while washing (machine wash for me no issues) the other.

Great alternative to a cone
Worked great after our dog was spayed. WAY better than than the cone the vet sent home with her. She is a medium sized golden doodle mix, approx. 30-35 lbs. The XL size was the most comfortable for her but the L worked as well. She was pretty fluffy with her winter coat at the time.

Better than a cone but wish it had a better closure
Doggo had a wound that needed a couple of weeks to heal and wanted to avoid cone so tried this. Matched sizing chart and fit well and worked for purpose. I would only change the closure, which is snap buttons - 22 snap buttons. Tiny snap buttons.Maybe you'll enjoy wrestling your wriggling dog while snapping 22 tiny little buttons shut but I would have preferred Velcro or some kind of more flexible closure system, If you or a friend are handy with a sewing machine, it would probably be simple to add a Velcro strip.Once you have the 22 buttons closed, the vest works well for purpose - dog can eat, drink, do his #1 (see note) and #2 thing, etc and is more comfortable than with a cone. Have a backup because you might need to wash it. My dog got used to it the first day and when I would take it off sometimes to clean it, he seemed to want me to put it back on.Also - sizing is very important if you have a male dog. Measure very carefully, as the dog's #1 system will soak the vest if you order too large a model.
