So far works great!
I purchased a home with an undersized (2 7/8) whole home water filter. My well water is pretty good, but it has sediment, iron flakes, and has a slight sulfur dioxide smell. I was using 2um carbon filter from WM or HD for about $5 each, but they would clog up in ~2.5 - 4 weeks. I decided to upgrade and install a Dual BB system with a sediment pre-filter and a carbon block main with pressure gauges in between to judge filter life. Based on the smaller filter's performance I think sediment is my larger problem, because it tended to clog prior to the carbon's ability to remove the SO2.I went with a the Pentek R30-20BB Pleated Polyester Filter, because it is supposed to be reusable with a quick rinse. I haven't had to rinse it yet so I can't say how well it works after rinsing. There were many complaints that the Pentek EP-20BB Carbon Block Filter reduced system pressure by ~5 PSI. My pressure tank runs between 50 psi to 32 psi and to be honest I don't notice the pressure drop at all. My well pump is rather quick and only takes ~30s to raise the pressure back to 50psi. I suspect that's masking the filter concerns others had.The installation was pretty straight forward. I'd recommend MAP over propane for soldering as I could finish a joint with ~15s of heat. I would also highly recommend a good heat shield. I had to solder some joints next to drywall and my heat shield was able to withstand all that heat without transferring any of it to the drywall. It wasn't even warm.My only complaint is that the filter housing doesn't include a wrench. I was able to hand tighten them, but I'm sure I'll need a wrench to unscrew them. I also had to order a third filter housing as one of the original ones had broken tabs which hold the filter. The return and refund process was easy and quick. No complaints there.Hardware List from Amazon:(2) Pentek 150467 20-BB 3/4" Big Blue Filter Housing with Pressure Relief(2) Watts Housing Bracket for Big blue 10" and 20" filter housings(1) Pentek R30-20BB Pleated Polyester Filter Cartridge, 20" x 4-1/2", 30...(1) Pentek EP-20BB Carbon Block Filter Cartridge, 20" x 4-5/8", 5 Microns(3) Simmons 100PSI PRESSURE GAUGE(2) Homewerks 119-4-34-34 No-Lead Full Port Ball Valve with Drain with 1/4-Turn...Hardware List from Local:3/4 pipe, flux, solder, heat shield, MAP torch, fittings, 5/16" x 1 1/2" lag bolts, washers, etc..3 month update:Everything is still working great. At 3 months I haven't noticed any pressure drops due to filter clog, but we've started to notice some SO2 smell in the water. I pulled the pre-filter and washed it off. The tank had sediment in it and it was clear the filter was doing it's job. I pulled the carbon filter and I was surprised by how clean the tank and filter are. I couldn't see any sediment in the tank or on the filter. I decided to rinse it just because it was out.My plan is to keep using the carbon block until the SO2 becomes too bad to bear. I think the pre-filter still has another 6 months in it before I have to rinse it again.

Pentair Pentek is the best brand to maintain you whole house water filter system
I installed my Pentair Pentek Big blue water filter system 5 years ago. I have used copy-cat brand parts to maintain my system through the years only to learn that using Pentair parts is better than trying to use cheap brands to save some money. This model canister made it a perfect replacement for my old canister that had cracked and leaked. Although my OEM system came with the canisters that had the pressure relief valves that allowed me to quickly depressurized the canister and change the elements. I purchased the Pentair model canister without the PRV. From experience, the PRV port will erode away. Install was simple and fast as my plumbing was copper lines with coupler connections. I cleaned the copper threads with acetone, and applied 3 rounds of teflon tape. Then apply joint compound, always a good seal for me. I like the canister has a groove for the O-ring to sit in made for good seal. Compared to cheap canisters that had the O-ring riding on the outside diameter of the canister lip, I had to spin the canister couples times to set the O-ring properly. I have to agree with the others, I wish the mounting holes were threaded and came with new bolts. Over all, I highly recommend this product.

Replace the o ring
Love the filter but always had an issue with o ring. I felt like I was going to rip it off the wall trying to get it tight. I went to Ace, bought a new o ring and some plumbing grease. Goes on the first time every time now.

Great quality! Pentair is the standard by which all other filter companies are measured
I purchased this filter housing to complete my sediment filtration set up to 3 BB housings. it matched perfect to the other two I had previously purchased several years ago. Great quality and I have total confidence in this companies housing that I won't come down to a flooded basement. Pentair is the standard by which all other filter companies are measured

DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE INSTALLING IT ANYWHERE BUT INSIDE YOUR HOUSE
I've had 2 of these in the past 4 months, first one was installed about 2 to 3 months before one day the bottom busted out and started pouring water everywhere. I got the replacement one less than a month ago and sure enough, this morning the entire thing was broken right in half and both seams had cracked open. I have it installed in a crawl space, so I cannot comment on how well it lasts inside a house, but be weary. I will be going to a different manufacturer for my new filter. This is clearly made out of Chineseium crap.

Great filter housing for large filter that minimizes pressure loss.
I used these for a whole-house filter system, and their sizing allows for there to be minimal pressure loss with the filters in place. I also noted on reviews that the pressure buttons sometimes leak, so I opted to get these housings without any pressure release. When setting up my system, I make sure to include a bypass loop and another way to relieve pressure. These were held up with the matching brackets and just do their job. Another reviewer mentioned the right-sized lag screws to use, and that worked perfectly. They're doing their job and have stayed right in place since I pressurized the system. Water now tastes so much improved from before. I didn't worry about getting clear housings, as I installed pressure gauges before and after, and can check the water pressure when water is flowing to know when to change the filters. We're glad we used these.

I just needed the blue housing. It was a perfect fit for my Culligan system.
My whole house system was installed by Culligan many years ago, and over time the blue plastic cannister developed external leaks. I had no use for the main manifold (black plastic) housing of this assembly. I just wanted the blue plastic closure. Anyways, it was a perfect fit, leak now repaired, and I'm very happy.

Installed in city water system before a softener to remove smells and it works well
I installed this in front of my new water softener system install I did a few weeks ago. I used this to catch any crud in the city water and also remove some occasional sulfer smell it gets. Water has been fantastic so far. No issues with the connections leaking like some people said. I used 3/4 MIP to 3/4 PEX-A sharkbite fittings with a few wraps of the blue monster tape and a small bead of yellow number 4 sealant. No leaks at all.
