Yes, actually. The 9/16 grease guns are the smaller portable grease guns that accept threaded small tubes, including this one. Larger pro/shop grade grease guns are the ones that require the larger tubes of grease.

Grease's will mix but its better to remove as much of the old grease as you can.

Q: Can this be used on O-rings and rubber / silicone parts? If not does anyone know of a silicone grease that is good for the wet?

I have used it with o-rings for 35 years.

Q: Can this product be used for tripods (between threads)?

This is high quality grease, that being said I don't see why you couldn't use it on nearly any threaded bolt in your tripod. The only one I potentially wouldn't use it on is the one that interfaces with your camera, as it's not necessary to torque those to any real degree. Hope this helps.
