Worked great for me
I poured two bottles into a small mason jar. Placed a piece of steel into the solution. It turned black, Just as expected. Note that the instructions do not mention stainless steel, I tired a polish 318 and it didn’t work well.

No complaints!
Used it on clean steel, works just fine. Sanded smooth and then used acetone to clean. No complaints.

Didn't work on my 6" cast iron fry pan.
I have a6" cast iron frying pan of unknown manufacturer. It was ground on the bottom in certain areas. I bought this to darken those areas. I cleaned the bottom off and used acetone to make sure no grease was on it. It didn't work.

Disappointed
Like many other reviews, it didn't work.Tested on a few new 18-8 stainless screws. Also tested cleaning with acetone first. Time did not make a difference.-edit-It did work on brass. Bumped it up 1 star.
