Simple but excellant reference book. No fancy photos but nice line drawings. Easy to pack and bring along.

Very helpful and is in Japanese first, then in English. Provides some brands and the descriptions are nicely done, nothing too vague. The book is a good size to throw in your tote or handbag if you are brave enough to be seen with a food dictionary in an Asian grocery store. Slowly walking down the aisles and staring for a long time at the label is my methodology - but this book is helping me shop a bit more concisely
