The cage was very well made very good but it was hard for my birds to go in there and get into it I had read other reviews about it and I thought maybe it wasn't drawing the right kind of birds with the right seed well I tried all different kinds and it still didn't help so I would not recommend it as a good feeder for birds so I gave it to my sister and she decorated it and hung it

I have had this bird feeder for three years and I love it. It is beautiful but I also love there is a bottom to it so the birds will go inside and eat. I keep it stocked with hulled sunflower seed. That is the perfect seed for this feeder. There are always tons of chickadees, finches and tufted titmouses feeding from it. Even my bluebirds like it!I agree it isn’t squirrel proof but that is not because there is an issue with this feeder, that is a matter of what the feeder is attached to and where it is placed. My husband bought a squirrel proof pole from Dunceaft over a year ago and I have NEVER had a squirrel touch my feeders since we got it! When I had a skinnier pole squirrels could climb it (even with the squirrel shield, and they were always on my feeder. Invest in a good squirrel proof pole and it will solve the squirrel problem it opens up a world of options for any feeder! Now the squirrels stay on the ground and just eat those seeds. 😊

The media could not be loaded. I LOVE THIS BIRD FEEDER. I have come to love the feeders with the cage around them to protect the small birds. This looks like a fancy birdcage with a cool latch. It is sturdy and made of good material.I gave the review only 4 stars due to the fact that the seeds do easily get wet in the rain and can be wasteful. I clean it out regularly to get any wet seed out of the bottom of the seed tube and the bottom of the feeder. Even though the top lifts up it is a tight space between the seed tube andnthe sides, it is difficult to get your hand or arm in to clean it. I turned it upside down andI try to empty it that way first. I have used paper towels and long bbq tongs to get down inside the feeder to wipe it down.It is best to bring it in or put it in a dry place during chances if rain.With that being said, with a dry clean feeder and good seed, the birds absolutely love this feeder. I have to refill it daily, most times. We have a lot of finches and chickadees. I generally use sunflower chips and hearts.The photo and video speak for thenselves.

Haven’t written a review in a long while but I’m so impressed with this feeder that I just had to.First it’s really well made and it’s beautiful! It’s easy to fill and hang albeit it’s a little heavy but my shepards hook didn’t have any sag when I hung it.The birds took to it within a day. The blackbirds originally came and tried to feed by stretching their head inside the bars but eventually they left and haven’t returned (likely found easier access to seed somewhere else.)The inner feeding tube does have somewhat smallish mesh so larger sunflower seeds might get stuck but it’s great for golden safflower and sunflower bits.I’m considering buying another as a gift as it’s very attractive and functional. Well worth the price!

I am a brand new birder. This was my fourth feeder and I am having trouble finding food that will fit through the holes without falling all over the place.I tried Kaytee no waste fruit and nut, but it has way too big of chunks and plugs up the holes. Little birds cannot handle the chunks, and big birds just stick their heads in for a nibble but also cannot get the large chunks out. Hoping that a combo of safflower and larger seeds will do the trick. I will also ask the question as to which seed has worked the best for others.Also I will have to try feeder fresh to absorb rain. All of my nice, expensive seed just clumped, (feeder has only been in use about a week). I dug out as much as I could, and put into the platform feeder so the birds and squirrels eat it quickly. Is not easy to clean, as it is hard to get to the bottom of the feed tube. Will not replace food until I have the feeder fresh also.Of note, this is ALMOST totally squirrel proof!! It was funny watching them acrobatically climb, swing, reach, jump, etc etc without results. Until one enterprising individual opened the latch, leaving the feeder swinging wildly until rescued, (although thankfully no food fell out). I had to find a secondary clasp to latch the feeder shut. Now I have not seen any more squirrels on the feeder.It is truly beautiful, sturdy and squirrel proof. Once I can find a proper food combo and add the feeder fresh, I will probably be more satisfied, and will update my review noting these reservations and solutions.

I have had this hanging in my yard for several months now and withstood hot summers and wet weather and still in good condition. I do enjoy watching the smaller birds get in and eat. Deters squirrels and bigger birds. I did add an extra clasp on the clasp opening because my very smart squirrels figured out how to open it, but adding a small carabiner to lock it shut solved that problem. It is very pretty.

I chose this bird feeder because of its beauty. I was correct to do so. But, this feeder has more beauty than the photographs can deliver. I was stunned to receive a more wonderfully beautiful feeder than I had imagined from the photographs.It has blended in very well with all of my other feeders. For some reason, it attracts more of the medium to smaller birds, which is fantastic. Attracting the smaller birds increases the beautiful melodies they bring with them. I can't help stopping to listen to all of them when I'm outside, it gives me that little break in the day to pause to appreciate what Nature has provided to us.This was a phenomenal purchase for us and I recommend this bird feeder to any of you who loves melodic birds and appreciates the beautiful songs, colors and the wonderful joy they bring with them!
