It's mandatory.
I have just received the frying pan and have yet to try it. However, I have followed the instructions and seasoned it. This involves coating the pan with oil and then placing it in the oven at a low temperature and then at 350 degrees for an HOUR . I don't mind doing this occasionally but NOT AFTER EVERY USE as required in the manual which says that it is MANDATORY to do so. Really, who is going to put the oven on for an hour after every use and apart from the expense, what about the environmental consideration.

DO NOT BUY THIS PAN
Preseasoned? Really? If so, it has failed miserably.I'm not even going to attempt to get the caked on stuff off the pan after a single use.I cooked chicken thighs for 3 minutes either side on a medium setting (6/10), and now the pan is ruinedInstructions for cast iron always say "dont use soap, and dont scrub too hard."I tried cleaning with a scourer and soap, didnt touch it!The only way to clean this pan would be to use an angle grinder.Very poor quality. As the saying goes, buy cheap, buy twice. Now to find a decent one!!!!DO NOT BUY THIS PAN!!

Don’t buy
Appalling quality. I followed all of the recommendations for seasoning and I’ve literally just cooked one steak on it for the first time using and the base is peeling off…I wish I’d not bought this and the company is almost impossible to reach through Amazon.

The Practical Utensil
This pan is a reliable piece of equipment, a solid block of cast iron that suggests durability beyond my own existence. I found it necessary to remove the pre-seasoning, a small yet laborious task that seemed indicative of the modern age's insistence on control. Now, with the surface seasoned to my liking, it performs admirably, allowing me to prepare omelettes and fried eggs with ease. In a world often distracted by the ephemeral, this pan stands as a quiet reminder of simplicity and utility, a tool designed for the honest work of daily nourishment.

Seems ok but…
The pan is a great size and not too heavy. The pouring lips are good too. The first thing that struck was how rough the inside is. See pic. t is supplied supposedly pre seasoned. The inside was sticky in places. That aside the idea of buy and pan and using it without cleaning it first seems a little odd. The the preseasoning is a bit redundant. I gave it a light scrub and then seasoned it in the oven. I then used it for some deep frying. After that I was able to fry an egg with only a little oil and it didn’t stick which I thought was miraculous given how rough it is inside. When you wipe it outwith a paper towel it lightly shreds the paper! Still I will stick with it. And hope that increasing layers of seasoning will gradually make it smoother.
