Well done, Makita!
I used to have DMR 200 and I was pleased with it untill it fell down from around 30 foot and broke down to pieces. The 203 is another ligue - better sound, built-in equaliser, Bluetooth connection of up to 200 speakers. I bought two for a surrounding sound - it's loud more than enough.

Very Well Made and Sounds Great
Have a lot of Makita power tools so only made sense to buy the radio too, I’ve taken it to work (industrial manufacturing plant) and given it a hard 12 months use. Worked well every single day and never had an issue with it and it has been subject to a very cold and abrasive environment Monday - Friday. My only issue is that it does eat batteries especially if you have the bass turned up, expect no lore than 3-5 hours of playback at full volume on a 3Ah battery, and sometimes it can be a little too bassy especially in a loud environment. But overall I’m very pleased with it and it’s a very sturdy speaker, should last a long time

Great radio for work.
Put off buying one for years but a recent job outside in February with my little fm/am radio struggling to pick up any station worth listening to, even for short periods, made me take the plunge. DAB....what can you say? Better choice of stations and music. Not necessarily bombarded with lecturing news and advertising. And no interference! Crystal clear sound. Not as small and certainly not as light as my little Sony or Roberts radio, much more expensive, but station choice and clarity wins . I only use it on jobs where I am one place for the day really. Have used a 4.0ah Makita battery for two days at work on medium volume level. Don't bother with copy batteries. I have a cheap 6.0ah battery which routinely lasts about 3 hours at the most.

Love it.
Love this radio. Good sound quality, relatively good dab/fm coverage in our area. Love the Bluetooth. Haven't really taken it to too many building sites as I think it is still too nice to get thrown around, but in the garage, around the house and outdoors it's great. Battery life (5ah batteries) pretty good, probably a full day on medium volume. Nice bit of kit.

Battery
Buy the battery that powers it as it isn't supplied with it

Great sound. We'll built. Would prefer better Bluetooth control.
The sound quality is great. The bass is plenty deep enough for me and the volume is plenty loud enough for my purposes.I'm using 18v 5ah batteries and it's playing most of the day only using one battery. I've also used a 12v battery for a while which obviously didn't last as long. The volume needs to be turned up separately on the unit and your phone. I've had other speakers where the volume adjustment on the phone adjusted the volume on the unit but this does not have that.I did see a review which dropped marks because the phone charging usb port was on the outside which is not helpful when your phone is in the compartment, but the compartment has a notch to allow the lead to pass through which does solve this. It's also highlighted in the manual. Unfortunately in my case my phone is so long that the door bends the wire a bit tightly. However a 90 degree usb-c charging lead would solve this. Fantastic!
Got this for my shed - waaaaay more powerful than I need but sound quality is amazing. Very robust as expected from Makita. Connects to bluetooth device (iphone) easily and very easy to use. Within 2 minutes out of the box it was playing music. Perfect.
