Why did I wait so long to buy this Remote Starter from STARTX...... Super clear & simple instructions. Works Great!! I am extremely happy. The kit included everything I needed. I was concerned about the note saying a computer is required for programming. The computer programming was also simple clear to understand. Just follow the "Well written" instructions. Works so good I bought two of them! One for my personal truck, and one for the company truck. Super easy to install, only connect to ignition switch, connect to CAN block under steering wheel, and follow the instructions from the phone. Only need one key to program, and you can choose options during the programming. I opted for LOCK-UNLOCK-LOCK to prevent accidental starts.

Roughly 30 minutes to install. Instructions slightly confusing but plenty of YouTube vids that are easy to follow.

I had a flashlogic remote start that said it was plug and play but it ended up not being. I had to tap 2 wires into the trailer brake harness and nothing told me that I had to call customer support and get help but they were very rude.But the start x remote start was completely plug and play extremely easy and only took me like 20 minutes to program and install it is greatI’ve got a 2018 ram 1500

My first review was mean, but I gave it some time and have changed my view. I originally didn’t like that it ‘took a while to start’ and ‘it worked half the time.’ I take that back because I was new to this and impatient. The install was easy AF and while watching the videos and pausing it while installing, it only took about 30 min. Minimal tools and knowledge needed. The video does a great job explaining, just make sure you have a computer available to do the updates on the remote start (use your phone to watch the install, pause/play while using computer to update system.) I’m re- doing my review because after a few months I figured out what it wanted out of me to make it work. Just be patient. 3 clicks with the lock button with a *slight* pause in between each click and it’s on for 15 min. I assumed it worked instantly, no… it’s not a factory remote start, so it isn’t as fast as those, but it does work. For $200 and 30 min of install..this is very impressive. The sequence is 3 lock clicks and it starts. It’s on for 15 min and it’ll shut off after it’s timed out. Once unlocked you have 45 seconds to first: insert the key and turn to run, second: press the brake. Now it’s on and you can change gear and drive. If you get in and press the brake instantly it’ll shut off. Took me a while to adjust my ‘entry start ritual’ but it’s easy now and kinda funny when it cuts off and I briefly get mad at myself for knowing the sequence and not doing it. All in all, it took about a month to get used to, I wrote my original review like the day after I got it installed and boy was I rude and wrong. It’s worth every penny and it’s soooo easy to install yourself.

Update*** I emailed my issues to customer service Ave they were very responsive. Apparently when I changed the battery in my truck, the remote start went into "valet mode", which didn't allow the remote start to work. The customer service rep gave me instructions on how to fix the issue. The problem was solved in less than ten seconds. Great customer service. The programming was a little difficult but I finally got it. Once installed I had no issues until I changed the battery in my truck. Easy quick fix. I love the remote start. **Four stars for programming difficulty but other than that I have no issues.***Original post***I bought this remote start in December 2023 and it worked fine through the winter but now eight months later it doesn't work at all. I don't know what's wrong with it.

I wish I could have gotten this years ago. Very easy to install. The instructions were easy to follow. Total time to install program the part took about 45 minutes.

Best $200 I’ve spent on my truck. Super easy install and programming. If you created your Netflix or email account you can program this. Comes with links to videos that were 100% accurate and explained every step. Start to finish was maybe 40 minutes and it works perfectly! No more cold mornings thanks to this remote start!
