I bought these because when I saw the colours, I felt most were very similar to the tones I see in the landscape in my part of the Scottish Highlands during Autumn in particular. I'd never used Black Widow pencils before but I'm so glad I took the chance because they have turned out to be ideal for me. I really like the delicacy of the tones and the seemingly endless possibilities for layering and blending.I tend to work on a small scale and prefer to have my pencils really sharp. These sharpen really well and the points seem don't break or crumble. They lay down their colour very smoothly and give me the tonal quality I am looking for.I have pencils from many different manufacturers - some cheap and others very expensive - and I have to say that these are now at the top of my list. I will be buying more Black Widow pencils. If they are as good as these then I will delighted and will certainly be switching my allegiance.

You have got to get these coloured pencils. They are excellent value for money and well worth it. I am lucky enough to have all the Black Widow sets. The colours are wide ranging and vibrant. They go down on the paper very smoothly and layering is very good too. The customer service is wonderful. I had a couple of issues, which were dealt with speedily. One pencil had a broken lead, which meant that it would not stay sharp. Another pencil had the details on it (colour and number) written the wrong way round. The company immediately replaced these two pencils without any quibble and speedily too. If you cannot afford the top range of coloured pencil, such as Polychromos, Caran D'Ache, Holbein or Derwent etc., then these are the next best thing. To my mind Black Widow pencils should be in everyone's collection of coloured pencil.

I was skeptical at first when I bought these black widow pencils.But I was surprised at the quality of the pencils for the price. Good selection of portraits colours to use for your work or just to practice with.They are soft and lay down very easily and smoothly. These pencils them self are all black barrel with the tip in the colour of the pencil.I have used them and found them a joy to use and very easy to blend with.They lay down very well on the paper and can take some hard pressure when using them without breaking the tips.They sharpen very well to a point and are comfortable to hold while I'm using them.I did find the packing, the tin very sturdy and held the pencils in place with the plastic tray nice and snug. Be ideal when you are on the move knowing that the pencils will not move around and break the lead.

recently bought two products from this company and the arrived both quickly and securely to my home. I have now used and sharpened the pencils and none of these exhibits the attributes of a product improperly handled, such as a broken internal wax bar. The pencils themselves are excellent, they blend well are comfortable to handle and use for prolonged periods of time. They produce quality professional finish to work - I do childrens book illustration and wildlife illustration and I am pleased with the finish these provide and I have use brands such as Caran Dache, Derwent lightfast and Berol Karissma. Price for these is amazing for the quality. I highly recommend this seller

So long story short tin was dented and ended up being refunded and kept the pencil. (Thanks Amazon) So felt it only fair to comment on the pencilsSo they are quite soft so need little pressure to get the rich colour on paper. Whether 95gsm or 300gsm cartridge paper, all excellent. Also easy to rub out the first layer if you make a mistake.They blend well together as well with other pencils and can create great skin tones.I intend to buy the other colours and would say great quality pencil.

These pencils are a must for the serious artist, they are very useful when drawing faces, but also great for many other things, drawing birds, trees and scenery etc.

These pencils are really quite something special. I love all the Black Widow pencils, the Cobra, Scorpion and the two skin tones. They are fabulous to work with, blend, layer and burnish beautifully. I have spent hundreds of pounds on pencils over the years and these are the best budget friendly pencils. I really can’t fault them in any way. The coloured in picture above was completed with the Black Widows. The service from this company (the seller) has been second to none, extremely courteous and polite when I did make contact with them. Communication was fantastic, you couldn’t have asked for more. I will always use black widows and my prismacolours have been made redundant!You will not be disappointed with the performance of these pencils, cores all central and no breakages on sharpening.

Il prodotto é arrivato velocemente, le matite scrivono bene e i colori sono molto realistici. Confezione bella ed elegante. Sicuramente ne acquisterà altri della stessa marca.

le matite sono di buona qualità usate su libri e su cartoncino. comodo che i due set, chiari e scuri, sia diviso in modo da ricomperare solo quelle che si usano maggiormente. in tutti i set pelle, di tutti i brand, trovo dei colori improponibili e questo non fa eccezione.

I want to give an honest review so others can make the best decisions on pencil choices..First I’m just a regular person who bought the full set including skin tones & new monarch set..A MUST OWN SET 🥰🥰Honest -most people will find these workable and enjoyable no matter your level of artistic skill.A must own !!!!Onto pencils....Whoever said these are soft like PRISMA premier are mistaken. ( these are soft but different in a good way)Not taking away from anyones comparison but they just are not as creamy. But they are buttery, smooth &!highly blendable they are a nice softness.So, don’t get me wrong these are GREAT but these are not in that super soft league of pencils.These fall in between Arteza, black widows and PRISMA level of softness and layering ability.I believe these are that perfect middle we strive for.BRIGHT & UNIQUE COLORS ARE AWESOME !!!These pencils do have a level of fantastic colors with rich pigment and they are a PERFECT SET OR addition to your PRISMA set or Arteza set or other wax based set.SOFTNESS/BLENDING/CORE STRENGTHThe cores are a bit harder not in how they lay down but in how they handle, sturdy, will sharpen to a nice point and you can apply more pressure and still have the buttery lay down without breaking the lead or a huge wax bloom.I do notice some minor dusting but this is expected, it’s still a pencil after all :)Blending these was easy and easily blended with my PRISMA premier set and Arteza set they play very well with each other adding POP and depth to myPictures...COST -THE BIGGEST POINT NEXT TO APPLICATIONFor around 120.00 you can get all of the tins including the skin tones - so these rank right up up there with PREMIUM PRICE but well worth it !!They do break these out in sets for affordability. So, you can buy sets as you go instead of all at once, which is a nice aspect.And each set is unique no repeat colors..🥰The tins are nice but most of us don’t use these for long term we put them in easier access containers or cases.So if I were to suggest anything it would be ship these in a pencil case that holds all 144 colors and then sell replacement color family kits in tins. A thought .Maybe add a breakdown of colors for sale such as reds/browns, blues/grays etc.... replacement tins of color families would be great..All in all I will keep these and see how they perform long term, I’m happy with the performance and softness These are right in that happy middle..
