This actually worked!
Surprisingly enough this actually worked well! I thought that nothing would protect us from swimmer's itch, but both my two and four year old managed to only get a few bites.

Very Effective!
My kids got a terrible case of swimmers itch at the family cottage a few years ago. We purchased this the next summer and have been using it ever since. The swimmers itch was in the lake for a few years and we gave this to all the neighbors. It may be gone now, but my kids don’t want to take the chance and put it on themselves. It’s quick and easy. It smells strong at first, but you don’t notice it after a while and the kids got used to it quickly. No staining of swimsuits. Make sure you follow the directions as apply sunscreen first.

It works as it says it does
I did not like the fact that it burns really bad for a while after you put it on, but it does eventually settle down with no itching.

Love this product!
We have been going to Myrtle Beach every year for over 20 years now. Every time we are there, I would get an itchy red rush on the top of my feet. I did not know what it was and by the time we get back and I make an appointment with a doctor, it's gone. The pictures did not help to identify it. I started researching it and came to the conclusion that it must be a swimmer's itch. But knowing what it is does not necessarily helps to prevent it. Until I came across this cream. This is the first year I did not get the rush! I used the product as directed, applied sun screen first (Neutrogena spray) and then a good amount of the cream on the top of my feet. I would reapply it every hour or so. It worked like a charm! I am so happy I found it! Now I can enjoy being a beach bum!

Swimmers Itch Guard vs. Petroleum Jelly- Both seem effective to combat water itch, but very different price point!
We have dealt with the issue of swimmer's itch at our Michigan lake for years, but were told it was particularly bad this year. Because we had extended family coming from the UK, I wanted to protect them, so invested in this product and purchased 2 jars. The swimmers who used this product were protected and seemed to have no problems with itch, but those who did not suffered terribly! HOWEVER, when I realized that the 9 people at our cottage were going to need to use this for 10 days, I started using Petroleum Jelly and had no problem with water itch as well. This is certainly not a scientific study. but the conclusion that i reached is that you need a good "barrier" to prevent problems. So...... you be the judge. Invest $25 in this product, or $2.00 in petroleum jelly! Both are difficult to remove at the end of a swim period. Also, I highly recommend showering with soap, water, rigorous rubbing/friction with a washcloth and towel drying immediately after emerging from swimming.

Product did not work at all.
Applied product as described. Resulted in this rash all over back/chest and arm pits. I believe this product made my lake skin rash more pronounced than usual. Do not purchase, total waste of money.

Necessary in our life
This stuff works sooo good. Our lake recently has become almost unswimable due to chiggers. It was miserable. If we use this and sunblock before getting in the water we are almost completely chigger bite free except maybe a bite or two.

Used in at Ironman 70.3 World Championships
I have open water swam for many years and never have used a product like this. I have had swimmer itch and it is annoying. So, when I heard that the Reservoir near St George UT had bad swimmers itch, I thought what the heck I would try it. The water was not wet suit legal, so I put the cream on at the test swim. I really liked the smell. It worked very well a friend didn’t use the cream and later that afternoon said he was itching. Also used at the race and it worked great. The other benefit is I often chafe and get abrasions on my skin. This did not happen so the cream was a good skin protector from my tri-suit and clothing.
